http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw-ca...ler-worldwide/ When you purchase engine upgrades from AC Schnitzer you must submit your car reg., mileage, owner name etc for the warranty form. Make sure you get a copy of the form completed and stamped from your dealer. Job done. If the need ever arises for a claim (that BMW themselves won't cover because of the tuning) any work required is carried out by your BMW dealer, and they will be reimbursed by AC Schnitzer. If you sell the car the warranty goes with it but AC Schnitzer must be notified of the transfer.

the M135i being the 5th BMW I have, I know for sure AC Schnitzer is the safest way to go, and usually the most expensive way to go
I am not here to say if AC is better or the Hatge is better (or the TMC) but there are different products out there targeted for different purposes I am sure AC always have the best warranty (which is why if there is a part that I really would like to be covered, like any engine parts, I would go with AC instead of Hatge or Hamann or anything else) however it does come at an extra cost, it would be a personal decision if it is worth the extras as for the turbo charge piggy box, yeah I am sure 5 sensors is better than 3, but the TMC gives you 385 hps with a 3 sensor box, for about 400Euro, what else would you ask for? its the cheapest power I have ever paid for period. it is also a relatively easy technology as compared to a full ECU remapping, or something like a complete intake/exhaust manifold system I am sure BMW over-engineer their engine so much, it lasts longer than anyone needs it to be, of the 5 BMWs I had none had any engine failure remember that those Nissan GTR 34 with 800-1000hps, it was essentially done by putting so much pressure in the turbos and engine, the pressure we are putting into our BMWs seems insignificant of course those 1000hps Nissan eventually blew up, but I know people run theirs at 500+hps and they are still running strong today, it is just Nissan, and it is BMW we are talking about here. of all things to be failed, I believe it would be the charge pipe before anything happens to the Turbo or Engine I am not here to sell anything so it is down to your choice if warranty is your thing, and fund is not a problem, going with AC is always your safest way to go on any BMWs but for people who want some extra fun without the extra fund, there are products out there like the K&N filter, TMC box that gives you obviously improvement without asking for an arm and a leg |

I had a TMC box on my Abarth and probably won't be putting one on my BMW...
The box was good, power increase was silly (some owners went from 180bhp to 230bhp) but with all good things something had to give. You can't expect to run 30%+ more power on standard components and be ok. The weakest point of the engine will always suffer and fail sooner, 9 times out of 10 it's a small insignificant part. On the Abarth the boost solenoid failed on 3 out of 4 Abarth SS's that resulted in limp mode. It took between 1 and 2 years for this to happen and when it did you needed a new £140 part. Now you probably could run one on your BMW and never have a problem. In fact I'm almost sure that you could on say a 118d as its hardly a high output engine, you might have problems on a 125d or m135i. |

As a side note I've met Daron (owner of TMC) a few times and he's a top bloke.
I've been thinking of contacting him and getting a TMC on loan for my 118d and doing a thorough test with dyno readings to support. I'll let you know how I get on |

Perhaps. But I might be able to find the money for a Quaife diff haha.
The other thing is that the consensus appears to be that the car is putting out 340hp stock in any event. If true, then this takes a bit of the shine off the claims of the chip tuners. |

Matty, if you get the quaife then I will too. Like I said to you today, I don't think it will cost that much and I like cars that I can play with the tail end so I'm in.

On the contrary, Wayne and I are interested in function over form.
Ryan, on the other hand, wants to tell his Maserati driving colleagues that he drives an AMG. By the time they've asked him "Which model?" he'll be pretending his pager's gone off. |

- White;
- Dakota black leather; - Auto; - Sun-roof; - Adaptive suspension; - Harmon Kardon; - DAB tuner; - Music interface for smartphones; - Tint; - Professional Navigation; - PDC; - Rear view camera. Still not sure about Lane Change warning. Wayne reckons it's a waste of money, as does Ryan. My limited review of the literature suggests it reduces the chance of a collision by %10-30. Not insubstantial given the outcome. In a superficial attempt to get this thread back on topic, if Ramspeed is in Queensland, does that mean we have to drive the car on a 4,000km round trip? If so, it sorta kills that idea. |

It's just a weekend trip.
Meanwhile, good spec...very familiar ...I'd lose the lane change; like all data, the stats demand scrutiny of the base, which is probably those who drive without ever using any mirrors. That's not you, surely? Hence, the return for you will be negligible at best. These days, with apps like TuneIn Radio, and Pandora, I'm not sure about DAB...but that's just me. |

Hand on heart, have you NEVER checked or sent a text message while driving?
Insofar as the weekend trip is concerned, what if you're not happy with it and have to take the car back. Twice. Mmm? Not inconceivable, is it? |
