Cup holders - no inserts

Just picked up my new 125d F21 on Friday (I'll try and post pics later if that's the done thing): my old F20 had inserts in the cup holders to convert them into oddments trays. This new one doesn't - just empty cup holders. Is this standard now or are the inserts missing?

Mine does not have it either. It is sold separately.
Were your previous car a used one? or the dealership was a bit generous

The cup holders are now under the sliding lids, which I prefer.
It not only looks better, but you can use it to store items (concealed) if you don't use cups in your car.
I like that there are separate lids and that the back section is there to put stuff in whilst leaving the cup holders free for cups as well as the design with the covers.
I gather BMW thinking is that if you want specific items you get them as an option.

Sliding lids!
Never noticed that! I'll have another look when I get home.
Have to say the interior changes on the LCI are very subtle but I really am loving this new car (even more than the old one). The control display seems to be higher res, as everything looks crisper, and I like the way the aircon display is white or orange depending on whether it's day or night, to match the dashboard display.

Shame I can't really get to play with it till the weekend

Sorry, I opened the wrong forum. I have both the F20 and F48
Yes, F20 has the exposed cup holders (optional inserts) and F48 has the sliding covers

The M Sport F20 does come with the inserts as standard

Hmmm.... maybe you get them in the F20 but not the F21 (for some wierd reason)? Or maybe it's a regional thing, as the above poster from Turkey also didn't get them.

How old is your F20? My 2013 F20 had them but my 2016 F21 doesn't.

Anybody else recently taken delivery of a brand new 1er that can shed any light?

Our F20 was delivered in February, and had the inserts.

No, not anymore, Ronnyjoz is just correct. UK configurator shows 125d F21 LCI does have extended storage by default (as well as M Sport) but clearly no cup holder inserts both from interior picture (left hand drive ) and extended storage text description.

Furthermore, it looks like one shouldn't rush to buy those inserts just blindly: those we love might happen incompatible, FWIW.

Thanks everyone, that just about clears it up. It's no biggie; I just use the LH one for storing little things in and they'll rattle around a bit in a cup holder, that's all.

Just wanted to make sure thay hadn't been omitted.
