Both Australian and UK configurators call it "Lumbar support" (detailing it's adjustable). And it's optional (unless you consider a 7 series?).

I thought it was only the backrest standard, too. I tried the (adjustable) lumbar support option on a 7 series (the only available) and I couldn't get it as low as I needed - it was rather a middle back support for me, definitely above the lumbus. A (previous generation) 1 series owner reported the same: having the option but not using it because of too high. So I didn't order it.

The research I did on this option resulted in polar opinions. So if the penny matters, it should be tried to find out if useful. For me the sport seat tilting is the means to get lumbus supported.

Lovely seats indeed - likewise I've found them very comfy when in other cars with these Recaros. Very tempting, but at present I get in and out too much in the daily grind to warrant them.

If you aren't tracking, hard to see the point of a harness as the cops might be upset if they see you wearing one.

Weight weight weight! How does these compare the standard ones?

Electric seats are probably one of the most stupid inventions for cars. Slow, heavy, complicated and hardly ever used. I would love to save the weight - granted it might only be 7-10kg for a set.

I never actually performed a side by side weight comparison... but specs indicate about 7.5KG a side !! There are other recaro options that will reduce weight 12.5+ per side !!

"Sit on the floor." (And it's free! )

I don't really mind Recaro, they must be good.

Please help!!!

Hi I'm a completed newb so please allow for that

I have a 2014 F20 with standard seats but I hate them! I have been looking everywhere to get some replacement sport seats from Recaro or Sparco etc... but I have been told that there are no fitting plates compatible with my car.
However I see by your pics you managed to get some fitted ? be great if you could let me know how and what I need ?

I am running Recaro's Pole Positions as well in my car. I have Macht Schnell floor mounts, recaro sliders, recaro side mounts. It fits in our car.

I have an F20 M135i LCI. It has the Dakota Leather electric seats with seat memory. In hindsight, I would've spec'ed the car with BMW's Sport Manual seats because the ones I have now have me in a much higher seating position than what I got used to in my previous 1er, an E87 120d M Sport.

I partook in a BMW M Driving experience and I got to compare the manual and electric seats in the M4 and M3. After jumping from one car to another on the track, the height difference was glaringly obvious. I really much prefer a low seating position.

This is why I'm considering getting Recaros for my car.
