I believe it. Doesn't look bad really. There are a number of interesting new design elements. Looking forward to seeing the rear.

It is definitely believable, and an improvement. Nice work BMW.

Is it just me or does this new 1 series has a slight or passing resemblance to the A1 in overall proportions. The way the headlights are angled upwards at the outer edges and shape of the hatchback...or it could just be a coincidence?

i agree. its a step in the right direction but a part of me thinks bmw purposely makes the 1er slightly ugly so that it doesnt take away sales from 3 series.

It's a CGI !!!

Very good though ... based on the latest spy pics from the Ring.

CGI inaccuracies:

The grille - the real one is more 3D.
The headlights - close, but not 100% accurate.
The front bumper - the real one is not as massive.
The bonnet - the real one has much more pronounced flame-surfacing details.
The parking sensors - the real ones are positioned lower.
The license plate position - the real one is positioned lower.
The rocker panel - the real one has a bit different details.
The side front air intakes - the real ones have plastic cover on the outer sides, up & down (CGI has the plastic cover only on the upper part, across the whole width).

Definately a chop as far as I can tell. The rear right roofline of the car seems to dive away too much in comparison to what we can see on the left hand side...

I could be wrong... I hope I'm not though. I don't like the treatment of the front at all.. this has jumped into the spot of my least favourite looking BMW... a spot that was previously occupied by the X1.

The upsweep on the insides of the head lights isn't unprecidented in BMW design, but, IMO is an ugly mistake. I would buy any E8x 1 series.. (except the 'vert).. I would not buy this.

It is Autobild. It is as credible as a USA Today Car issue would be. This magazine is all about big photos(hops) and headlines.
BMW has not released the picture, so no press agency / magazine will have it. And if they do, they are not allowed to post them. So, stay tuned until BMW reveals the car....

A bit of an audi style bumper me thinks. The way it curves away from the number plate.

Am I the only one not liking this? It looks like a facelift. Those headlights and curves make this look like a chicks car.

the front makes it look like a smaller cheaper entry level car, like a A1.

lets wait and see what happens.

Never mind the 1 series. Concept M5 tomorrow? Better not be april fools joke! and why are they bothering with a concept, why not just show the production model? We've already seen it uncovered inside and out. We already know the spec pretty much and have seen so many teasers.

First of all, I really like it...it is different enough from the current car, but still has that "I am different than a 3er" attitude...

Secondly, why won't this come to the US? I simply don't understand the reasoning...Imagine a diesel version of this bad boy! It would be great as a DD...

And yes, the coupe is going to be hot...I will be getting out of my E82 lease at just the right time...

April already?

It would have been too obvious if it were posted on April 1st. This cannot be the real deal. When was yhe last time a magazine leaked a photo 4 months ahead of the unveiling and in such a good quality? What would BMW tease the next 2-3 months?
The thing is I would have liked this to be real because it is different from the other models.

That pic doesn't look real. I hope it isn't, because that car is uglier than the current 1er.

Looks real to me. I don't think this is an official photo, however. Seems like someone may have photoshopped a real press photo ever so slightly.

Virtually all the details appear correct, but as pointed out above, the real one will have more flame surfacing on the hood.
