Best mods for a 116d ?
Am buying a 116 1.6 what subtle mods are good for it?
As it has a base model spec by the looks of it. It looks similar to the pictures attached. I actually wanted the sport model with the cloth sports seats however the model I wanted is not available now. I am thinking change the wheels - Not sure what to but bigger ones. Slightly lower the car. Tint the back windows. Don't really like the steering wheel on these aswell. And is it a common problem on these that the passenger side above the window - the pillar rusts? Any other ideas guys? thanks. Last edited by gstyle17007; 12-03-2017 at 11:59 AM.. |

Regarding possible mods i’d go for M steering wheel M gearknob M park brake and black gloss panel for AC and radio preset buttons (black panel trim like on the facelift)

It is the circled area I don't have the actual pics to hand. I could see the rust underneath that had bubbled the paint Strange thing is the three I viewed all had the same problem. Could just be an issue in the uk due to the humidity.. thanks. Last edited by gstyle17007; 12-03-2017 at 03:05 PM.. |

There is a thread on this: any mod ideas guys?.
You might also like Standard lighting / bulb upgrade, Mtec Superwhites, no LED's. Feel free to help yourself with OEM (select your car for better match): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...BMW-118i&mg=03. Quote:
Note that ///M steering wheels are frequent subject to theft. Mind your storage conditions regarding this: . Regular Sport steering wheel (select your car for better match) recommended (and pictured) in the top link should be a safer option. Quote:

Try to find a car with all that's necessary: retrofitting presumes some money excess. Sure: Recaro Seats and Install, recaro pole position install, F20 replace seats with Sport seats (and repair airbags). See the OEM accessory link above. And this (select your car for better match): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...BMW-118i&mg=36. |

I think your wheels are very nice now, but they would look very ugly in black. It is one of my favourite designs. I would have liked to have those myself, but they do not fit over the M-Sport brakes.

Lol the look of the car has been killed with them black wheels. The 17" alloys looked pretty good to start with. |

Have finally decided to go for a 118d 2.0
Checked with insurance and they would increase it massively due to the mods so better just to buy an already specced one. Last edited by gstyle17007; 12-06-2017 at 01:05 PM.. |
