it has it's own identity. It is polarizing but it works in reality where you can actually see the front three-dimensionally.

I finally figured out why this one looks MUCH BETTER - it is because the grill is a kidney shape, you know, BMW's trademark?
The new grill is a rounded square - totally kills the elegance of the car I will keep the 2-series coupe in my prayers. |

when someone says a car is "polarizing", that is equivalent to saying it "makes you want to wash your eyes out". Therefore I agree.

Having looked through the entire gallery, I can see the squat of the sportier versions from the rear which has begun to grow on me. The fact of a radical departure from the current 1er is good too. Sometimes automakers play it too safe with new generations as would have been the case if the F20 looked like that red render that is popular. It is probably the novelty that is shocking and over time it'll be quite fine. Now really looking forward to seeing it in person, and of course, the coupe version in due course.

Typical responses here...
Everyone hates it at first, but it slowly starts to grow on everyone, and magically when the M-Sport is released, everyone loves it... Personally, I LOVE the interior, awesome job, love the clean gage cluster, so timeless. The exterior, well, yeah, it'll have to grow on me too, and I'm sure it will... PLEASE BRING TO THE USA!

Ugh from the pics it looks like the Sport is still using run flat tires! When is BMW going to get it through their thick skulls that we need a real spare wheel/tire. I will even be happy with a steel wheel/tire combo.

Different isn't always good There is a reason the golf/3series are benchmark cars Because they are the best at what they do. They are the culmination of many years experience, weeding out all the mistakes, and perfecting the formula. If you wanted to copy the success of a football team, you'd copy barcelona, Manchester united. Not blackpool trust me, even in pictures it's striking Striking how badly BMW wants to be different, thinking this is the way to lead design. Unfortunately, I think the road you're traveling on had big signs marked "DANGER: DO NOT ENTER" "WRONG WAY!" My only salvation is that generally the 3 series was always the safest option, because its the one car BMW can't f$&k up, as most of their profits depend on it So my gut feeling is the next 3 series will look a lot better. If we have to offer the 1 series as a sacrifice, so be it.

anyway Excuse my language, but I fucking love it! I didn't like the red they showcased the sport in, but I love everything about it. Now it's just a toss up as to if it's a new 3er or new 1er for the next car. |

The official sketches looked really good and the reason I think is it shows a lot more definition on the cuts and contours of the body, specially the front end. The real car on the other hand looked a lot softer. I'm waiting for it to grow on me.
Interior looks beautiful though.
