Can you adjust standard headlights?
Off to France on Saturday and want to know is it possible to change the headlights direction to European instead of headlight deflectors?

I took my F20 (with xenon front lights) from Spain to the UK last summer.
I searched the manual and there's a way to that by yourself. I think you have to deal with a couple of screws on top of the lamps black casing, inside the boot. Check the manual, you'll find it there. I didn't touch mine as I went there in summertime and never used the car at night. |

If you have standard headlights (not Xenon), you can adjust the headlight beam throw with the knurled wheel which is located next to the main headlights switch (right side).
Is this what you mean? |

I don't think so. The light pattern is not symmetric. In countries where we drive on the right side of the road, the light is biased towards the right ditch. In England it should be the opposite. I remember on older BMWs, like the E30, you could loosen a couple of screws and twist the reflector over to adjust the pattern.

yep, i think you need a 5 or 6mm allen key. Open the bonnet and there are 2 white plastic allen key slots by the lights. One of them does the height and one the left/right adjustment. Sorry I cant remember which is which have a play..
