Congratulations looks fantastic.

Why is your RVC above the number plate and not in the rear bumper? Is it because it's not an M sport?

Exactly. M = in Bumper, Line = above plate.

The camera lens get dirty relatively fast. It's in the bumper on my car, but probably same problem with non-M. No big deal for me since I wash the car once a week, but I still don't understand why the couldn't hide the camera under the BMW-badge

Indeed, that's the reason why.
I never considered the M version as I'd rather go for a more classic, less aggressive style.

So far I have to say the car is pure joy. I can certainly feel the difference between the BMW's auto gearbox and the VW DSG system (which I've been driving for a few years). The gear change response is as immediate and the rear wheel drive push is just amazing.
It's fun changing gears sequentially, but the coolest thing so far is when you want to go back to P from sequential driving... Just push the P button on top of the stick, then hands off the stick and it goes back to the central position on its own, no need for the driver to move it to the right, back into central position, if you know what I mean.

Something I really appreciate is being able to comfortably move your legs without bumping into any lateral obstacle (like in many cars nowadays, they fit the central console in such a way that you feel enclosed in a sort of F1 cubicle, but that's not the case with the F20's console layout.

The boot is bigger than I expected, two big pieces of luggage will fit ok. It's a shame nothing can be stored under the boot mat as it's where the battery is placed.

However, that's just a minor thing and I have to say this is just a great little car and a I can't wait for the summer holidays to arrive and have fun!!

For me the positioning was the reason to not even consider the RVC, because me likey M .

In my car there is a decent storage room besides the battery.
I have Run Flat tires, so may be on non RFT cars this room is filled with jack or tyre repair set - idk.

Btw BMW offers a lot of smart solutions for the boot. I bought a nicely designed rubber mat that covers and protects the floor in the boot. It also has small but useful storage spaces on the sides.

When visiting the dealer it is difficult to withstand buying cool accesories, a bit of self control is necessary. Especially when you have two BMW's to care for

I also have the storage room besides the battery, but I asked the dealer yesterday and they strongly advised me NOT to use it as such.
I have RFT too, and the repair set comes inside the left-hand side storage space, just below the first aid kit.

I think this is probably a bit of a random topic for dealers - mine suggested it was a suitable place to put the owners manual.....

I have converted from Runflat to normal tires, and I store some of the remedies for pucture fix next to the battery.

Ok, I see. Probably your dealer is afraid of putting metal items close to the battery poles. I thought about inserting a tray or something in the empty space, that separates the stuff you have from the battery. Should be possible!

My previous car (Golf V Gti) had DSG and it sucked.

Interesting - I noticed that when I sat in the 125i at the dealer. It seems to have more lateral leg room than the Golf and generally feels roomier width wise. This surprised me as the centre console looks almost as wide if not wider than the Golf. The F20 is a wider car though.

My father's lexus has a huge centre console not just in width but also in height. Toyota seems to love these but I can't stand it - makes me feel boxed in.

There is more space for your legs towards the engine, because its longitudinal mounted. Hence the quite big legroom for the passenger too.

Regarding the camera: Yeah, nfi why BMW put it into the bumper with M sport... utterly stupid.

Nice looking ride, finally here

I hadn't actually seen pictures of black Metro upholstery before this, have to admit that the combo looks much better than I expected. More understated than pearl. Looks great!

Enjoy her, she's worth it!

PS: One tip, be careful when cleaning the gloss black trim, it scratches *very* easily. Get a soft-tipped brush (make-up brushes are perfect) and dust the black bits down on a weekly basis. If you let dust gather, it creates fine swirls when you try to get it off.

Thanks for the tip, mate. I'll ask the missus for one of her unused brushes.
The black trim certainly looks delicate, and so does the nav screen!
