NEW 1 series convertible when?!
When is it coming out!?
BMW is doing a great job of hiding all sources of info on the coupe...and the convertible. None of us have any clue to what the design of the US spec coupe/convertible will look like. Release dates and such....who knows how accurate the "official internet reveal" is and so forth. If the official internet reveal of the new 1 series convertible is slated for July 2013....then when does it hit production and when does it arrive in dealerships in the US? *I wanted to hold onto my 2011 128i convertible (10k miles) but it has been smacked with 2 horrendous stone chips the size of bb pellets. AND Repainting will only cause a mis-match of the metallic paint...so best I can do is touch it up. A professional will aid me in perfection in this...but they will still be visible. With these flaws & a claim for a rock damaged cracked windshield on the way for my car....I looks like I can only look forward to the next best thing a replacement to my E88 convertible. I don't want to get antsy but I am already. My E88 is a nice professionally detailed car...it just has some bad luck on it's side. Stone chips can kill a gorgeous car.

Maybe...
Could that be related with the different reception that the F20 and F30 had in public???
Maybe there are some changes being done on the f20 front!!! |

Have you tried Dr. Colorchip? I got a fairly large stone chip (approx 1cm) on my hood about 3 months into ownership (Alpine White). It's noticable from ~1 foot only because I know it's location and the touch-up paint isn't as deep as the factory paint (I realize I could add layers of paint to bring it flush to the factory depth).
Of course, could be a different story with a metallic paint (and Blue Water Metallic is a beautiful color - I wish it was offered on the M-Sport). |

So I decided to get the light blue/light grey combo to match the E30. Didn't care about msport when it came to the color I wanted.... Would have got a 135i convertible in blue water, but it was out of my price range. I'd have to go coupe to get a 135i. I wanted a convertible. Only. *In terms of the Dr Colorchip: Im very skeptical about it because of the press it got in a newspaper product review. The guy showed a video and said it's a waste of money. He had a maroon Saab. The paint didn't match either. Paint matching issues are a reason I wish I just bought a Alpine White car!!!!
