It's here! F21 LCI Valencia Orange
Fair play to Wollaston BMW for organising getting me my car 4 days sooner than it would have otherwise been. Went and picked it up last night and promptly took it on a drive down to Devon. So happy with it
118D Msport, Auto, heated seats, H&K, driver comfort pack, sun protection glass. I'll take some proper photos on my camera during the week |

I can't atop looking at it, can hardly believe it's mine. Been an aspiration to have one for so long Had a few comments about the colour. Mixed opinions but I didn't buy it to please other people haha.

That's a beaut, lovely colour...making me wonder if to order EB or VO if I change!
How does the 118d drive compared to the 120d if you know? I've only been able to test a 120d but would be getting a 118d |

I drove a 420D auto a few weeks before I test drove the only 118d they had which was manual a few weeks later. Obviously it had more grunt, putting the 118 in sport mode does wake it up, the 120d would probably be a bit nicer but it was quite a bit more expensive. My thought process was there are plug in performance boxes available that will boost the performance but can be removed when going in for service etc.
Few more pics! The salesman was a smooth chap and gave me a few 'gifts' when I picked the car up. A framed picture of the car, a BMW thermos and an M keyring. It's the small things: Couple of pics I took when I got the car home: I've just come back form Devon which was about a 500mile round trip. Was great to get settled in the car and enjoy cruising along in it. When I go home I fitted my BMWP dash trims and door handles. Drivers side before: Drivers side after: Passenger side before: Passenger side after: I'm going to order the BMWP handbrake lever and gaiter tomorrow (http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/ow...ryId=8630.html) and get that fitted at the weekend hopefully. I was looking at the gear selector carbon cover but it's over £200 for that once piece which seems a little steep to me. |

The additional interior looks great.
How well does the 118d engine mate with the auto box? How's the mpg looking so far, after your trip? Sorry for all the questions...I'm in the process of deciding whether to change from my F30 320d auto. I find it too big, heavy & saloon is impractical for my daily drive! |

Not a problem It picks up well enough and is so smooth. Expect it is similar to your F30. Less power but a lighter car so I'd imagine performance isn't too far off. On the trip I was getting 55mpg on the way down with the cruise and Eco pro mode. Got less on the way back as gave it a bit more of a drive at speed. I maybe could have sacrificed the auto box for the '2L' engine but I wanted an auto and its plenty fast enough for me any way.
As I said above I did test drive a 4 series but I'm very glad I went for the 1 over the 4 or a 3 as they would have been far too big for me. The drivers cabin on the 1 is generous, the rear seats are a bit limited on leg room though. But it's only ever me and my partner in the car hence why I also went for a 3dr. |

Very nice.
Too bad about the yellow plate in the rear though, really clashes with the paint colour.

Fuel light came on today! For the reserve tank any way. It took 43Litres and did just over 480miles which makes an average of 50mpg. This was a long motorway slow cruise of about 200miles, a faster motor way journey of the same roads back home again of 200miles. The rest was short journeys driving down A and B roads. I'm pretty happy with that and hope that once it is run in these figures do actually improve but time will tell!

My hand brake lever and gaiter turned up today from Cotswolds BMW. Popped out and swapped them over when I got home:
Before: After: Before: After: Not a hugely expensive add on but fits in nicely with the rest of the carbon and alcantara bits in the car. I mentioned above about the facia for the gear selector, but I can't get my head around how it is priced at £200 Also swapped the insurance over today. All this BS about being 25 and the cost going down us utter nonsense |

I can only reiterate what I've said previously really. I sat in the back yesterday just to see what it was like and there is more room than I had first thought there was. I'm in love with the media system and the H&K. I would find it hard to justify the enhanced bluetooth option or the professional nav media system as the standard equipment on that front does everything I could ask it for. Bluetooth for the phone syncs the phone book and also my music library on my iPhone 5s and so far so very very good to be honest. Even though this is the '1.8' I do have to keep an eye on the speedo as it is so smooth and quiet I've found myself doing, shall we say, a high rate if speed without realising.
