Weird Brakes
Before anyone gets freaked out, it's not that bad.
Sometimes when I'm driving at very low speeds (traffic, parking, going over a bump) when I take my foot off the break, it doesn't move (driving an auto here). What happens is the brake pedal becomes very stiff if I press it again and it takes a few seconds for the brakes to release and allow the car to move. If i press the gas pedal, it'll move immediately. As far as I know, the 1 series doesn't have an auto-hill brake option. Has anyone else experienced this or can anyone shed some light as to why this might happen? Cheers Hasan

Yes, these cars have a hill holder feature, and that is what you have experienced here. Very nice for starting uphill with manual gear.

I found out about this feature just a couple of months before I had to return my car to the leasing company . Holding down the key button to open / close all your windows is another feature not everyone knows about.
