F20 First drive
Picked up my F20 116 I sport at 9am this morning.
 First impressions are the car is a lot more comfortable that my old E81 120i. The ride without the M-sport suspension is nice and smooth but just firm enough to still give you those driving dynamics! The sport seats are way more comfortable that the old ones. Visibility is improved forward and in the wing mirrors, although rear windscreen remains about the same. The power steering is more noticeable, tootling around at low speeds it feels free, and then as you accelerate you really feel it firm up. Perhaps it has lost a little bit in handling but once it firms up you know you’re in a BMW. Power really doesn’t feel much different to my old 120i, managed to get an overtaking manoeuvre done and the acceleration from 40 to 60 felt almost identical to the 120, so it’s got the power where it needs it. Oh, and I can see the dials on the dash perfectly through the steering wheel!?  All in all very pleasant first drive, looking forward to having a full day with the car tomorrow as I take a road trip north! Pics are just from my mobile so the quality is not great, i'll get some better ones from my digital camera soon.

Congrats again - a very nice car!
Good to hear you are happy so far (why wouldn't you  ). Looking forward to your impressions after a longer journey. Your mobile doesn't do justice to the colour btw, the crimson read is deeper!

Enjoy! Picked up mine at lunchtime, have driven only 1.5 miles to drop off at home. Mineral grey looks great, very pleased with it, as had not seen before ordering. Will drive properly tomorrow. Not even photographed.
Feels like being a kid on Christmas morning, quite sad :-) |

As i pick mine up tomorrow (
) I'm mostly very jealous of the scenery you get to drive yours in! Congrats! Can't wait to take mine for a ride. |
