Ok. All but the VW, I would be interested in their numbers as well. Keep in mind, 2 seat roadsters are typically 3rd cars for a family. I am not expecting huge numbers, but more than what we have from BMW.
I may be bored at work, but I don't have THAT much time to look them all up individually I did look up Nissan out of curiosity since that is a mainstream brand and probably has the highest sales figures. 800 sold in May 2015, but that includes coupes and I definitely see more 370Z coupes than roadsters around here. So let's say best case scenario is 400 sold per month or about 5,000 per year. Is that enough sales to justify keeping a model in production?

Porsche generally releases sales figures for the Boxster/Cayman combined. Are you sure that number is just for the Boxster?

BMW grossly messed up the Z4's market position. First of all, they turned it into much more of a cruiser than the previous car, and they moved way too upmarket price wise. Porsche sold 307 Boxters and 304 Caymans last month. Despite the fact that the Porsche's are much more expensive to buy.

BMW just flat out got the formula wrong this time round. Despite what the BMW big-wigs say, there IS a market for sports cars.

The X1 isn't even considered a Light Truck by BMW themselves?

We need a new Z8. If that name's too sacred, call it a Z9. I'd buy one. After all, I'm a sucker for Bimmers.

No, because the E84 is strongly based on the E91 (car) platform.

"Creative accounting" maybe?

Grouping the X1 (at -53% year-over-year) with the rest of the trucks would drive down the truck group number drastically. The X3 is already -44% YOY.

Yup. There's at least one Benz cabrio model out there as well.
And supposedly it/they is/are selling well.

As far as US sales are concerned, isn't BMW still the number 1 luxury automotive seller in the US?

No. Here is the ranking:

1. Mercedes 148k +10% YTD
2. VW 144k -4%
3. BMW 136k +7%
4. Audi 75k +12%
5. Porsche 21k +11%

Therefore BMW only beat VW, but lost share when compared to all other german auto manufacturers. More concerning is the fact BMW's growth was almost half when compared to Mercedes, Audi and Porsche.

VW is not a luxury manufacturer.

Agree Scott. Just wanted to list all German manufacturers. Tell BMW to give us a 2 GC or a 4 door sedan version to change that

Globally these cars including the X4 show significant increases especially for the X4 which is approaching its first year anniversary since market introduction in June 2014. The X4 receives a second generation model in early 2018 giving the current X4 a sales life of just over 4years.

The MINI is on fire from a global perspective especially since the introduction of the 5dr F55. And more importantly the MINI is finally a profitable entity for MINI as profit margins for previous generation MINIs were slim but assisted by personalisation options with the Countryman and PACEMAN units only showing full profit per vehicle.

The new UKL architecture not only allows BMW continue to reap profit on the MINI personalisation but also for the first time the car is fully profitable as will be other UKL based cars hence why projections show that combined BMW and MINI sales with UKL based vehicles will be around 600,000 by 2020.

This year sees the all new BMW X1 and MINI Clubman which will be unveiled in July. With X1 sales at 730,000 units since introduction in November 2009. BMW expects the 1 million barrier to be broken within two years to join both the X3 and X5 which broke the million barrier with their generations. Which will illustrate that the luxury SUV market in each respective segment, the leader is BMW.

Given the early reaction to the all new BMW X1 since the introduction last week it seems the car's specifications and visuals appear to be generating considerable interest leading to BMWs overall decision to build the X1 in not just Germany but in other plants globally also.
But also provide the option so X1 can be produced alongside the MINIs coming from NedCar in the Netherlands BMW's satellite facility for MINI overflow.

Wow.

Almost the same amount of cars in one month that Porsche brings to America in one entire calendar year.

I'm half expecting Clubman sales to be 1, like in January. Sadly, they sold 3.
