1-8 Buttons Keep Scratching

Hi,

Anyone else experienced the continual scratching of the buttons that are numbered 1-8 in the F21....

I had one head unit replaced under warranty, and have been very very careful ever since but noticed that it was scratched again just the other day.

BMW won't replace this under warranty now, the part is only £80 but it's still irritating that it keeps happening

maybe i should just wear gloves while i drive :s

Never had this happen to me... too much finger nail maybe? Temperature related? Scratch easily when cold and the plastic is more brittle?

No issue here either. I do worry about scratching the small display below though as I have a habit of removing light dust with my finger.

Yep be very careful with this. I have some wonderful scratches in the sat nav screen from using a microfibre cloth on it. The cloth went in the bin after that happened.

I got my car back from the dealer to find that they had scratched my screen lightly presumably during the complimentary clean

Have you worked out exactly how you're scratching it? I usually get my car cleaned by the hand car wash people, the only issue I had was their jet wash has pulled one of the M badges off the alloy wheels haha
no scratches on the interior. I don't have any fingernails though and I don't wear any rings.

me either, no nails or rings...

i think it's just dust to be honest.. and then wiping it off can cause it to scratch the plastic. i don't clean my car very regularly (like, twice a year ) so it is/was probably just a big build up

pah, annoying, i've replaced it now anyway... will be even MORE careful now
