Can m135 awd be used on track?

Hi guys i'm n00b here.
Here is the problem. I'm looking for used m135/m235, but i live in Russia and AWD is a MUST here (during winter we participate in many snow/ice championships).

But i want to use the car on track (pretty rarely, 4-5 15min sessions per month) during summer.
And the question is: can bmw m135/m235 xdrive be used on track? How predictable is its behavior when tracking? Its awd has no LSDs (my STI 2005 has got three of them), so i have worries.

So is it sutable for track? I understand that rwd bimmer will give me more pure experience but can't afford to have STI for winter and RWD bimmer for summer.

Thank you.

And one more question. Can I equip awd m135 with an optional LSD which BMW offers for RWD m135?

M135i Xdrive for track days - yes - have a look on 2addicts forum there's plenty of guys in US and Canada who use their m235i AWD on track

RWD LSD for AWD rear axle - I believe the rear diffs are the same RWD v AWD so yes you could fit LSD to AWD car. Again a quick search on 2 addicts forum might be useful to you....

If anything, the car is almost too predictable for track driving. Some people would say a bit boring to drive. Fast and effecient, and very forgiving. But then again, so are most Subarus.

The BMW LSD is very expensive. There are cheaper aftermarket options, like Quaife.

Yes, it is suitable for all purposes, really. It is less intrusive on the stability control than the clutch pack differentials.

OP - suggest you try m235i xdrive on track 1st to see how it's AWD behaves compared to your Subaru-based benchmarks.

As Ove says, xdrive may be quite benign yet don't surprised if it be pedalled around a track at a higher rate than a scooby.......

If I was modding xdrive - I'd be looking at larger 245 or 255 tyres F&R to up the grip levels as xdrive is sensitive to variances in rolling radii, esp if using staggered tyres F&R.
