A-class fuel consumption vs F20
Just browsing over at
http://www.aclassclub.co.uk/forum/wh...151_page1.html to see what economy I could have gotten had I chosen the A180CDI instead of my 116d, glad I went Munchen over Stuttgart on this one they are *happy* to be getting mpg in the high 40s to low 50s! My F20 has cracked 64mpg on a 550 mile round trip (mainly motorway and A road)! Just thought I'd share (with a smug grin) |

I think a direct comparison is hard without exactly equal roads. My 118d ends up around 45 mpg (18.5 km/l) on my daily commute, which is mostly motorway (130 km/h) and a bit of city roads (50 km/h). However, when using A-roads (90 km/h), it will run at close to the 64 mpg you mention (28 km/l).
Also, I was surprised by the impact of wider tyres. I went from the factory-fit 195/55 to 225/45, which easily increased fuel consumption by 10%. |
