Seems quite wide. What size tyres were you planning on fitting and are you planning on lowering?

I was planning on lowering yes that's why I am Abit conscious of such wide wheels I hadn't decided on tyres yet, I think the safe option it to stick with 7.5 or 8J rims really

Lowering does't really matter. It only limits the outer part of the suspension travel, while the risk of rubbing is highest at the inner part. The suspension can bottom out even when the car isn't lowered.

8.5" wheels should be no problem. More than 9" is probably more of a challenge.

I disagree, lowering increases the risk of rubbing on wider rims/tyres, you can 'get away' with a certain increase in width without lowering, but lower it and then depending on off-set, strut and inner arch construction, etc you may end up rubbing..... been down this road before when car was too low, so had to opt for less of a drop to stop the rubbing (back in the day).

Anyways, as above, my pref would be to go for a 8.5" on the back, 8" up front.

The suspension travel is the same down to the bumpstop even if the car is lowered or not. Some show cars change the bumpstops to limit suspension travel to allow huge wheels, but that is not supposed to be approved for road use. If you raise your car and drive very carefully, you will perhaps not notice that the wheels/tires can rub, but they sure can if it rubs when it is lowered.

Front 19x8.5ET40 with 225/35 and back 19x10ET50 with 255/30 fits. A very slight roll of the front arches might be necessary, but otherwise it fits like a charm. (19x)8.5ET45 is also widely available and should give enough clearance.
Same goes for 9.5ET45 in the back, with same tyres.
I fitted Falken FK-453's. Your choice of tyre will be important as well. Some brands are more square and might cause rubbing.

Thanks, I'm only running 17 inch alloys not 19 so logically that should reduce the risk or rub even more ?

Depends on your tyre size.
Logically, you'll try and get a similar diameter but as you will be running a higher tyre, you might be more square and thus might rub easier than with a (semi) stretched 19" tyre.

They look a bit wide and bit stretched for my liking. Love the style though.
