Control Arm compatibility for F2x

I thought I should start the conversation, which I haven't seen in my quick search. What control arms can be used for F2x platform from 3/4 series, this is popular across e8x and e9x.

Part Numbers for Front control arms:
F2x 1 sereis/2 series control arms (nonXI):
Upper 31126855741 & 31126855742
Lower 31106857329 & 31106857330

F3x 3 series/4 series control arms (nonXI):
Upper 31126855741 & 31126855742
Lower 31126852991 & 31126852992

Theory:
For more camber, just like on e8x/e9x the lower arm needs to be replaced with M parts. It appears that F3x may be a longer lower arm over F2x. The F3x arms cost about $115/side manufactured by TRW, who may release an OE version without BMW labels for cheaper.

If this is the case that the F3x lower arm is longer, than M3/M4 arms may not work as they could be too long.

Issues/Light at the end of the tunnel:
This ebay auction lists that the F2x and F3x arms are the same, even the arm stamp has F2x and F3x part numbers:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-F20-F2...p2047675.l2557

If F2x and F3x lower arms are the same, than M3/M4 arms should work as camber upgrades like they do on e8x/e9x!

The remaining problem will be the minor issue of headlight regulator connection arm placement between F2x and F3x. This may be why there are different part numbers to begin with.

Next step is to compare rear arms, at first glance the arm look to be the same part numbers, therefore the Knuclke/Hubs will differ and maybe even the subframes to adjust for a wider track on F3x.

Aren't there easier ways to do this? I am thinking camber plates on the top mounts or just adding shims to the struts, like we could on the E36.

that is true.

I just wanted to throw the idea out there, especially if changing to the F3x lower control arm does increase camber.

The reason e8x e9x swap to the M3 parts is for the aluminum design and better bushings( designed for regular tires, not runflats)

Yes, I actually installed E30 control arms on my E36, to get rid of a bushing.
