$5200+

That is what it will cost me to finish modding my car...

excluding any little things that might come into play...

ON TOP of the $4000-6000+ (kind of lost count) or so I've probably already spent...

Wow... the 335i really is an expensive car to mod... and here I thought I couldn't 'afford' a GT-R (Never thought I'd mod the car)... $65k car.. plus 10k in mods... is $75k... I could've gotten a damn GT-R....

Sorry.. just kind of wanted to rant... I love my car but damn it's expensive as hell....

oo and the 4635 is LSD, Coils, Meth, DVs, 2.0, Mtech sides including labor.

current mods:
Performance: RR DP, Helix FMIC, BMS DCI, Scoops, JB3 1.4beta, STRI Gauge, RR OCC

Ext: iForged Emotions, M3 Style CF hood with custom paint, AW CF Aero lip.
Aleks Video Module/Rear Cam, RD LEDs, GP Thunder H3

Int: BMW Performance e-brake handle, ACS Style Pedals, OEM Wind Deflector
and prly stuff I can't remember

I've noticed recently I can reallly get addicted to things (I'm trying to get over a sex addiction...)
I have found sources for THAT one..

anywhere I can try to find a way to stop the mod addiction?
cause e90post is not helping in anyway

and no, I'm not trying to joke, but be serious...

Wow, you're either a poor investor or love the hobby. I just bought ssr wheels, rockford fosgate audio system, bms dci and ordering the jb3 2.0 next. I might go for the ar dp and or meth. But that's as far as I'm going. Mod bug or not, there are other and better things I can spend my money on. The 335 looks sexxy as is as far as exterior mods go. My interior will remain untouch as I love that classy stock look. I'd never consider dropped springs because it's lows already.

I spent about 15k on my eclipse in my younger years and just 5k on my 07 g35C that I owned for only 2 years. 4k of it was on the wheels. I guess priorities shift as you get a little older.

just be aware that nissan dealerships are ten times as tight assed about mods as BMW dealers are. Some of them will drop the hammer on you if you get something as simple as a catback exhaust. If you do a flash or even a downpipe they will almost certainly kill your warranty.

But even when bone stock the GTR is pretty awesome.

Pretty easy to do on a loaded out e93..... My sister's was around $62K when she ordered it back in 08.

Hell, e93 328's can reach mid 50's, and that's before you even jump up to 335.

I'm assuming he's including tax, tag, and title.

MSRP was $62,XXX

Got it for $55,500; then add CA tax of 9.75%, Dealer and licensing title fees and what not, and 5 year .9% finance

comes out to right around $65k in 5 years time

You have to remember, the starting price of an e93 is $50,700... where the price for a e92 is about 43,XXX.

The only reason I got a BMW instead of another Porsche (had a Boxster and a 996TT) was cause I wanted a hard top vert.. Porsche doesn't have one.. the SLK is a 2 seater.. and Lexus SC is crap, Sl550 way too much.. yeah.

I wouldn't have modded the GT-R
it's more than enough

I've just gotten addicted to modding this 335i sooo much.. maybe cause I missed the power of the 996T.... and coils+LSD cause I miss the "on the rails" handling too...

This car though, sadly enough, makes me smile more than anything else in my life (sex did, but now I'm having to stop that...so nothing left) ... maybe that's why I'm so addicted to it...

The GT-R is an AMAZING drive

I drove it when it first debuted in Tokyo a couple years back..
O well... I do love the 335i... maybe I'll just get coils and be done with it... (though a few months back I said I'd be 'done' after a JB3..then said it again after DPs... you get the pattern)

I find stock 335is sexy as hell
yet I don't know...

and maybe it'll help to mention I'm 21, 22 in a few months... my expenses are the $ I spend on taking women, my car, food... that's about it...
and I do work about 60-70 hours a week in order to afford this expensive life style...
(no loans, had a fully paid scholarship +$5000 a year, which is where most of this money came from...yay for free money)

a base e90 or base e92 M3 would have been about the same price, if not cheaper

they had a base e93 M3, but interest rate was 7.99% versus .9
in 5 years time, I'd end up paying close to 75k versus 65k..not worth it

Plus, I don't (don't flame me) even like the M3...

a simple DP and tune will get you on par with it from a stop, a FMIC will have you killing it
at least, that's how all my runs against stock e9X M3 have been

And I'm not the biggest fan of NA engines... though I don't dislike them, as long as they can produce 500 hp :P

if i stop modding, great
if not, you'll prly see my 335i have 550whp by the end of the year... or summer...
I've only had the car for like 9 months... 1 of those I wasn't even in the country

^^

In a straight line I guess you wouldn't feel that big of a difference, but in terms of handling, no matter how much you mod that thing, it's very hard to compare it to a M...any M....

Yes modding is a very expensive hobby/addiction. Usually if you only change a few things and keep the costs down to a minimum, you could end up with a pretty unique car without having spent a fortune. On the other hand, if you're like some people that spend and spend on mods, when it's all said and done you will realize that you probably could have bought a much nicer car with all the money spent. Not to mention when you go to sell the car back you won't get even 50% back on the mods. Thus it's okay to spend a few grand on mods but when you've hit the 10's of grand then you've got to rethink your strategy.
