Acrylic glass? Yeah right?
Finally got to feel this stuff and I promise you, let anybody sit in a car with it fitted in black, then another 1 series with normal black gloss trim from say the sport pack and they wont be able to see or feel the difference!
Anybody ordered it and been disappointed? Or just had a chance to touch and feel and has an opinion? I thought about going the urban line route with my car and getting the acrylic glass in white, but would have been sorely disappointed to find just white plastic. |

If you love it, go for it
I saw a 118i Urban line in midnight blue with that 'white glass' trim and white wheels at the dealers when I first went looking for my F20. That trim looks like a white plastic with a clear layer over it to give it the impression of depth. I was very pleased that they had two other F20 to look at, a 118i Sport line in silver with brushed/blue and a 118i M Sport in white with the checker silver/red trim. If the white trim car was the only one there I would not have gone with a 1er. |

Acrylic is simply plastic. The "glass" bit is all marketing fluff. It's super-glossy black plastic.
I have the black version in my Urban. It looks amazing, but this stuff scratches *ridiculously* easily, even when just casually wiping dust off with your bare fingertips. I do a monthly polish with Meguiars PlastX and then carnauba wax to fill the fine lines to ensure that it keeps its appearance, and generally only clean it with a super soft-tip paintbrush. |

just not any different to the gloss black trim of the sport model parked next to it. But then again I wonder how many people even notice the difference between silver plastic and actual metal trim on the standard car! |
