At least no huge front overhang.
So far good.

When BMW said they had no need for a sedan smaller than a 3 series, they must have meant a 3 series from 10 years ago...

No need for a RWD sedan smaller than a 3-series, apparently.

Is it confirmed to have FWD? That gear selector is used only for BMW's rear drive/rear biased models. Notice the 2 Active tourer and the new X1 don't have this shifter.

Yes, but to me it only indicates a ZF 8spd transmission, not the wheels driven.

Center stack looks similar to X5/6 and G11 ones..which looks pretty nice.

Cant tell much on the outside but im not holding my breath, looking at recent BMWs designs.

Dont get all this FWD hate. Certainly i prefer RWD but at this price point i guess it doesnt make commercial sense, not to mention the back seat/trunk room that the RWD platform would take away in a car this size.

Pray that they actually make a 2er GC which scott said that its platform can be used for both FWD and RWD.

Yes indeed... Time will yield a 2er Gran Coupe.

They can do only N26 xDrive and it will never really touch the 3er sales. The 2 is the new 3 anyways. They just keep upsizing each model so they have to complete the lower line up to stay competitive in every segment.

ZF 8spd is a longitudinal automatic so this wouldn't fit a FWD setup... but a FWD 1 series sedan makes sense to combat the CLA and A3 sedan...both are FWD...

So the F87 M2 will be the one and only since BMW M will not make a FWD M car.

HAHAHA good one.
You guys do know that this has nothing to do with BMW, right? China frequently copy cars for their internal market only.

Hmmmm I wish this car would be RWD - I'd be interested.

Always wanted a cheap, new BMW sedan but if its not RWD it's not really a BMW to me. Might grab a 2nd hand F20 hatchback or Audi A3 Sedan.

Its funny that I actually really like the Audi A3 sedan, looks really nice and the fact that its FWD doesn't bother me too much. But somehow with a BMW I find it rather lame - because it is not what I expect from them.

I like the S3 too. Beautiful car, ver very fast and drives great. I wish BMW would put 2 more doors in their M235i to compete with the Audi. This 1 series will not drive like the 2 series for sure so BMW may finally lose to Audi on the only thing it truly differentiates itself nowadays IMO: driving dynamics.

the 3 series is the perfect replacement for the old 5 series
This new 1er sedan with xdrive will be a perfect replacement for the $30k e46 i use to have. give me turbo 4 msport, xdrive, sunroof, with comfort access and heated seats. all for $35k and you'll sell a million the first year.

So true.....you'll have so many people wanting to get into a BMW just because of that price point with all those goodies involved.
