Around PNW here we got snow on Christmas eve and Christmas morning but that's about it. Its about 39 degrees + raining and when it stops raining, it drops a bit below freezing. I'm kinda wishing we had some more snow to place in.

Awesome. You'll love it. It's usually not that cold. I've been going up there for the past 5 years. Try and get to Woodstock. The town is awesome and you have to see the Woodstock Inn. One of the most beautiful hotels in the US. It has a 10 foot fireplace when you walk in.

I heard they also had a giant ginger bread house over the festive period. Definitely plan a trip to Woodstock. YouTube clips of the place had me sold.

Yeah, get lost in the woods for 3 days in FL during peak summer, sweat a lot.

Get lost in the woods for 3 days in the NE during peak winter, die.

It was so cold this morning I had to put a sweatshirt under my leather jacket to ride my motorcycle to work.

By quitting time I can probably make home without the sweatshirt, should be about 67 then.

I don't think you are accounting for all the animals in Florida during the summer which would happily kill you if you were truly lost in the woods...seems like both places contain a pretty decent chance to die in their peak periods!

I had the day off so let me tell you about my day. It's about 68 degrees today so I decided to get some late morning coffee at my favorite coffee place along the coast while wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. I then turned on the seat heater to the lowest intensity and opened the sunroof and both windows. I then cruised along the 101 taking in the pacific coast line view from Oceanside to Cardiff by the Sea (North San Diego), where the waves were a nice 3-4 feet. After the hard work I grabbed Mexican Seafood and ate it on their outdoor patio before cruising back up the coast line to Carlsbad.

At one point it did get slightly chilly with the ocean wind so I did turn up the seat heaters to the second level. Winter.... right??!
