Nice one Petay135 - looks tough!

Today I put carbon mirror covers and roof racks on.
I went a bit custom on my roof racks, as I noticed all the brands seem sit very proud (read bloody high) on the F20. So I mixed and matched a few parts from two different foot kits to get a really low profile roof rack.
It now sits nice and low to the roof but doesn't interfere with the sunroof or cause any whistling when driving.
I also got the roof racks and bike racks powder coated black (originally silver) to blend in a little better with the wrapped black roof

As you can see in the last pic they usually sit on this tall footbed which looks ugly!

I like the carbon on the white and yes you are right, the roof racks looks the part. Perhaps you could cover the Prorack logo with BMW tri colour stripes

Ha Ha yes it's true and we certainly turned a few heads that day with what is often derided as an ugly car.

All three of the pictured cars have had a bucketload of MP parts thrown at them, three happy owners with light wallets

Petay135 your car looks awesome. I personally wasnt a big fan of the mperf front spoiler but the way you have yours painted and on white it looks pretty good to me. The whole car looks great with all the small touches done. I remember your car posted in the gallery section a while back. But I also remember a blue m135i which looked pretty good too. Here is a link below and by chance your car is on the same page. I like the way the blue m135i front spoiler is left unpainted except for the small bits under the sides. Gives it a great look too

Hey thanks for the positive comments.

I did consider the idea of leaving the middle panel of the MP bumper/splitter unpainted but it did leave rather a lot of black plastic on show which looked a bit obvious/cheap against the white.

Once the dealer showed me the mock ups of the painted version on AW I knew that was the look I needed.

Like the 2 series MP front splitter better than MP version for 1 series. Knowing that 2 series MP parts wont fit 1 series msport, blacked out blades and lower bumper section by brake ducts of my M135i using satin black vinyl for a fraction of the cost.

Looks good.
Like my M sport, I like the way you subtlety changed the appearance.
By enhancing the front with the black, it now makes the front look wider and lower.

Ausf20 BeePee you should put a splitter on the bottom. It will finish it off nicely Bee Pee any other photos showing the car from a distance and from a standing position as well?

I am looking at two different front lip spoilers. One is the carbon fibre as seen under most M sports. The other is a custom made blade. I will be trial both and will post if I fit one.

Stifla,

I'm running H&R sport springs [about 25mm drop all round] so a full width splitter would be cannon fodder around the bumpy streets of SW London !!!

Here's link showing more of the car, albeit prior to having the front end wrapped.

Yes, I have to agree, Those lanes and side streets with gutters crossing them that you have there would be torturous on lip spoilers.
Low ground clearance is one of the reasons I have not put a front lip spoiler on mine as yet.
The M Sport is fairly low as it is.
Here in Brisbane they like to use those bloody high sided speed bumps and those hugh concrete wheel stops in our shopping centre.
They then place them so far out from the wall or parking bay line it is almost impossible to avoid them if you want to have your car parked inside the bay.
It is fine if they use the low wheel stops.
I might just have to bite the bullet and fit a lip spoiler and just avoid car parks.

Here I have gone for the Scandinavian winter style. Ugly but easy to clean wheels, mud flaps, and the car full of road salt!

I don't have a picture of mine but you wouldn't recognise it under the thick layer of black dirt (they turn the road snow into ) anyway.

I must say my BMW OEM winter wheels' Turbine Styling 381 rims look surprisingly clean nevertheless: very good for winter in this respect. But even they don't seem to protect the brakes from the slippery road shit: breaking feels (dangerously) loose compared to usual, I have to be ready for that.

Ahh The well liked and used look
Road salting ('yuck' in many ways)
What corrosion warrantee does BMW give on cars sold there?

The same as everywhere else. Pretty good warranty.

You don't park over the top of them and I've never had a problem in Brisbane as I'm over there often.
The 1 series is a lot shorter than a Holden Commodore
Your local council would have a design code for these buffers. It's just takes a photo and an email to them.

Kiwi I did not realize that you brought your M Sport over with you?

The issue is that a M Sport or any sportier type car is lower in front than a commodore. HSV excluded
In reference to a -photo and an email-
Do you know how many car parks in Brisbane use those buffers!!!!
They number in the 100s
I just try not to park anywhere that has those giant stops. I do not understand why when they are designing car parks they have a need to install building sized stops when there are stops available that work without damaging the underside of a car (see as in the pictures).
A wheel stop is exactly that 'a wheel stop' it is not a vehicle stop.

That's true for sensible drivers. Some are just too hard to stop. They apply for punishment. Not in Australia, judging by your embarrassment. I have to mind those high curbs (and those other drivers) carefully too.

Wheel size also matters, apparently: that thing in your picture might not even notice a "car-sized" wheel stop you demand. (Nor would it notice your tiny car straight behind, I suppose. )
