Possibly a new favorite car of mine. I loved the last gen GT, though this looks to be following the 40 a little more in size.

Ford needs to bring the XR8 Falcon sedan to the states. Now.

Sad to see a TT V6 but if they think it'll be better, then let them prove us wrong. And the "original" one was the Ford GT40. The revivals have always been called the Ford GT only since some other US company owned the GT40 trademark. Ford and has never been able come to a deal on the GT40 trademark with them. |

New Ford GT
Car looks great, and it is interesting that they are going with an ecoboost six cylinder for their super car engine. I would have thought at least a V8 with or without forced induction. Something also tells me that it won't have a lot of trouble putting the power down even though it is RWD. This is one aspect I wish the M4 would be better at or if BMW would offer a future package/Competition package to address this issue (sorry for going off topic).

F*ck nostalgia...this is straight from the race track. It produces over 600 hp to the wheels. Last edited by DieGrüneHölle; 01-12-2015 at 02:17 PM.. |

That's not the point I was trying to convey. With a hypercar (such as this) most of the vehicles as such have hybrid drivetrains/V8's/V12s/etc. You get the point. It just interesting that a V6 ecoboost that might be similar in a truck (new raptor) would happen to be used in such a car as the GT40. Usually when I think eco boost, I was thinking along the lines of the Taraus SHO. Afterall, Ford just unveiled a flat plane V8 in the Mustang. Either way I wasn't that worked up over it, just happy to read about it.

The engine is from the Daytona Prototypes running in IMSA. This version of the Ecoboost is already an endurance race winning engine. Beating all the other V8's in the same class. The Ecoboost in the GT is said to put down over 600whp. This thing go to be a beast on the track. |

that's a lot of output from a 3.5L motor. this thing is going to be a beast, and my guess is that it will continue its legacy of being a top choice for air strip racing.

The new Ford GT
Is a 600hp twinscroll turbo 6-er... should be interesting to see some of the backpeddling of the s55 criticisms

I love the look, even though the rear end looks like an angry birds pig.

I wonder if and how bad the Turbo lag will be. Seriously, 3.5 liter, 600+hp, its going to have some serious boost to make that kind of power.
Hopefully Ford will get an A in homework and do it right. |

It should've had a V8 though..... A Ford GT with a V6 sounds silly, but the GTR does just fine with one so it can't be that bad. I hope it sounds as awesome as the previous gen GT.
