2004 BMW Z4 Air bag light

I have an airbag light that is on all the time. It went on right after I hit a deer (front) and another deer ran into the driver side of the car. The body shop called in a air bag specialist who pin pointed the problem to the driver side "B" pillar so it was in the door that was hit by the deer. Now I am being told that BMW 2004 Z4 had a special circuit installed relating to the air bags and because of this circuit "all" 2004 Z4 have this problem. It was also said that although the light is not indicating any threat it did not go on because of the accident.

So I have several questions:
1. has anyone else heard this story and are "all" other 2004 Z4 having the same problem?
2. if this is the case what is being done to fix this issue?

I am being asked to just live with the light on and that is not an option for me.

But seriously, M-six, didn't you have a Z4?

I don't know anything about an "all" issue with air-bags on the Z4, but I would think that something like that would dictate a recall or service bulletin from BMW.

Here's a vid on reseting the light if that helps;

Not everyone with a z4 lurks in off topics. Post your issue here:
