Am I the only one who is annoyed with the position of the pedals? I see that because of that huge center console they are moved quite far to the left, especially the brake pedal.
This gives me massive discomfort on long journeys – anyone else is experiencing that?

No, compared to most cars I have driven, I find the pedal position rather well centered. If you look at older BMWs and Porsches, they are usually a lot more offset to either side, or the steering wheel is.

The pedal spacing is also very well suited to heel/toe downshifting while braking.

all I know that after a long drive my knee hurts badlly - and thats the healthy non broken one

I really like the bolster on the side of the side console to lean the leg on. Combined with a pretty good cruise control and dead pedal, I can really relax my legs when driving long trips.

I had a lot of trouble finding room for my foot on the clutch pedal (RHD) when I first got it. Kept stamping on the footrest instead. Very cramped compared to other cars I've had but I've got used to it now. Nothing seemed off-centre, just not a lot of room for my feet!

I found this too. Got used to it after a few weeks.

I guess the pedal position is probably different between LHD and RHD. I only figure that because I remember reading something about the dead pedal on the LHD cars being bigger and their being more space in the LH footwell.

I find that the pedals are off centre but not so much that I feel awkwardly skewed in the seat. It's not perfect but certainly no discomfort. I drove an A5 once and the clutch was dead centre of the steering. Now THAT was bad.

I have found the pedals perfectly placed for heel n toe, love it. But mine is LHD. I wonder for you RHD'ers BMW has to place not only the pedals but the whole thing in the wrong place (JD)

Random thought.... Since it seems now we have throttle/brake by wire and no direct linkages anyways, perhaps the pedals will one day be horizontally adjustable

The brake pedal still has a direct linkage.

Love my RHD's pedal placement. Supremely comfy up to 14 hours at a time.

H pattern gearbox layout is what I have to spend the most time getting used to when in drive on the right.

Otherwise all is fine.
