The symbol suggests it's the adaptive m sport suspension button, which I once saw on an M135i (can't remember if it was above or below the eco pro, comfort buttons etc), it's just strange it's in the exact same position as the one on my car for the front sensors...

I would go with DTC off although that button is usually on the dash next to the hazard button - sorry to confuse things

Ohk, i thought DTC was on top next to hazard too.
Isn't the sport button also the DTC, when you put in Sport Plus?

Just referred to the UK's 1 series brochure and it's the DTC button - On the dash you have the door lock and hazards on the F20/F21 - got confused because I currently drive an e90 which also has the DTC on the dash. You're right, if you select sport+ it deactivates the DTC.

The OP is asking about the one with the yellow ring, and I do believe this will activate the front parking sensors. I think you’re talking about the button on the top (the one with the pink ring around it in post #3).

No, when you select Sport+, you turn on DTC (dynamic traction control). Under normal circumstances this is deactivated, but DSC (dynamic stability control) is active. DTC is a mode that allows for more wheel slippage before DSC kicks in.

The yellow button is fitted if you have front and rear PDC. Pushing this button turns on and off both front and rear parking sensors.
When selecting reverse both front and rear PDC are made active, in a manual car these do not cancel when you take the gearbox out of reverse. You can press the PDC button to cancel the sensors in this situation,

The DSC button allow you to select three options. DSC On, DTC - Traction, or DSC Off (ABD-Sport On)

Drive control function switches between Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport and in some models Sport +. Throttle response, steering feel and susension are changed depending on what options are fitted to the vehicle.

Cheers

The difference between DTC mode and Sport+ is that DTC mode is using Comfort settings for engine/suspension/steering.

Does suspension change too on the MSport? Or do you need the upgrade M Running Gear for that?

I swear I can feel the suspension stiffen up when I put it in Sport... but as far as I know I haven't got the adaptive suspension?

You need to have adaptive suspention. On our M-Sport car there is no change in steering or suspension between the modes, since they are not adaptive. Only the engine characteristic is different.

For the steering feel/weight to change you need either Servotronic steering or Variable Sports Steering

The Variable Sports Steering comes standard in the 125i here in Australia.
