jB4 fitting

Hello

Has anyone fitted a jb4 to the F21? I would really like some help or advice if anyone has fitted one, I don't think the notes are very clear or they don't seem to be the same engine layout. Any help would be great thanks

I fittet the JB4 on my F20. The instruction is made for the F30 but very straight forward I think. Lay out the harness on your engine and the connections explain itself. Connecting the CANBUS will leave permanent marks on your wires - FYI. This is in the category of pairing a Bluetooth mobile - almost Just take your time, read twice and enjoy the satisfaction of DIY afterwards.
My car is not happy with the JB4 so please let us know how it works out for you.

Harked - thanks for that. I would rather do it myself just incase it needs to come off at any point. When you say your car is not happy with the JB4 what do you mean please?

I have problems with it over boosting and have occasional hiccups/jolts. Many people have success with the JB4 - few have problems so just give it a go and remember to log everything when you drive.

Harkes

The overboost issue was on cars with jb4 and extra EWG harness. Defaulting map 4 safe guard was as a result running too lean.

Did you have EWG harness only or both additional EWG and FF harnesses ?

I've just ordered the EWG and FF harness, are you saying I should configure it to map 4 once they arrive as map 5 has over boosting issues?

My car is with the pneumatic WG - I only run the FF wires but I still have issues with overboosting and hiccups - even on map4 and 0!

My issue log for those interested:

No need to configure to map4. Retrofit ewg and ff wires upload latest firmware.

Start on map 1 to make sure all ok then try map5. New firmware allows map switching with Steering wheel buttons.
