I don't mind the auto wipers
(BMW system is not as good at sensing when compared to the I had on the Mercedes). It is not that difficult to flick the lever if you want to wipe away light drizzle with one swipe. If you push the button on the end of stalk in, (green led lights up) you just have to get use to the lag when it is sensing actual road speed and rainfall. Reaction can be a little slow on the trigger sometimes. |

I'm not sure what you mean, but that little green rectangle on the stalk is a light, which is illuminated when you push the button in on the end of the stalk to set the auto wipers to on.

You don't seem to share much but your embarrassment. That's embarrassing. You've got the picture you requested but yours appears missing still. If you have the basic wiper stalk (missing the "auto" icon pictured, at least), why did you expect it to shine (sing and dance - optionally ) at your will? What makes you think you have the rain sensor? Do you have the "auto headlight activation" function (that is, does your lights switch look exactly as pictured, with two "headlights on" modes - auto and manual)? If not, there's no rain sensor (these two auto functions come together only, "in a sweet harmony"). What you might have instead is the "high-beam assistant function": does your lights stalk have a single or double button flank? The latter is the high-beam assistance available. This might come with the auto functions as well, though. You could check your car's factory (or is it pre-owned, modified?) options with your VIN, say, here, but I would suggest you should simply find a slot in your tight schedule for visiting a dealer to let them check and explain their findings. This should be reliable. |

do not know. Maybe BMW installs the sensor on all cars but is it only enabled when all other parts are installed.
Or it is a light sensor. Does the color of the BC Led automatically change from white to amber when it becomes dark. (without you enabling the lights) |

I certainly have a love hate relationship with the auto-wipers
