Credit Card from BMW Financial

Hello all. So I recently just got myself a new BMW. First one!

They signed me up for the BMW CC. I was just wondering, does anyone use this card?

The reason i ask is, well, I get a point for every dollar spent, and I can use the points to get up to 10k off my next BMW. It seems like its worth it to me.

Am I wrong? Does anyone actually use it?

What else can you use the points for? Also, one point per dollar spent is below market these days.

The BMW card sucks pretty bad, IMO. Unless you're planning to spend thousands on repairs at the dealership all the time, the rewards are sub par at best. I thought about getting it before, but my cards > BMW card

It really depends. If you use it to pay your lease, then I guess it makes it more worthwhile. But that's about what, 500 in points? Plus, I'm not sure if you can use it to pay your lease anyway, from my experience, I had to use a bank account. Someone chime in on this.

But the perks of the card is pretty marginal, other cards out there if you qualify for it gives much better rewards.

So to get to $10K, you have to spend $1M correct? I don't think I'd be even halfway there in 3 years!!!

The points are probably worth $0.01 each. So those 10,000 points will net $100 off a BMW. Would rather use pretty much any card in my pocket..

Probably. With the money you would spend on the BMW card to get a discount off your next BMW, you could probably spend the same amount on a good cash back card and receive more cashback than the discount you'd be getting off the car.

The way I look at rewards cards, the redemption value better be damn good if I'm limited to spending my rewards on one thing or category, for example, only BMW vehicles, or only Delta flights, or only hotel stays, etc. Do not confuse redemption value with earning points. 1 point per dollar spent is not redemption value. $1 off the purchase of a BMW per point earned would be an example of redemption value.

I guess the better question is.. what is the conversion rate.

we all know 1 dollar spent is 1 point.. how many points equal a dollar is the question at hand before we call make a proper call if its worth it..

It says above that you get 1 point for each dollar you spend so no chance you spend $1000 on the credit card and get $1000 off of a BMW.

I think this is correct and your original card that gave you 1% cash back and 2% on gas was better than the BMW card that gives you 1% on everything that you will get somewhere in the future only when you buy or lease a BMW.

Unless as other said you are spending lot of money at BMW centers (assuming parts and repair).
