About new 18 wheels
Hello guys,
So i´m looking to buy some new wheels but i´m having problems trying to know what measures will fit without tyre rubbing. Mine are the 18´s that you can choose with the Mpack. I know they are 7,5 x 18 at front and 8,5 x 18 on the rear. Don´t know the ET measure. I want to buy OZ Ultralegera or maybe some volk´s like the te37. If someone can help me with what measures work in my 2014 125d i will be grateful. thanks for your time. Last edited by Gorro47; 04-01-2014 at 01:50 PM.. |

I guess it depends how aggressive you want your fitment.
From the research I have been doing the most aggressive fitment I have seen is: F = 8.5J +40 R = 10J +50 This set up might need a little fiddling to get it not to rub. From what I have seen you can fit the following aggressive fitment without rubbing: F = 8.5J +45 R = 9.5J +45 I am going to go something in between the two I have mentioned above. You will also have to consider tyre sizes too. The more aggressive your offsets the more likely you will need to stretch tyres more too... Note* I havent fitted anything yet as im still waiting for my car! but I have gathered this info from the research I have done on here and other forums. (coming from a non BMW background it seems that BMW owners are very conservative with their fitment.) The sizes above will really fill your guards without looking stupid in my opinion) |

Quality wheels usually last and so, cost and cheap wheels are usually cheap for a reason.

A good choice! TE37's are a classic that look awesome and they are very light weight.
Thats the main difference between cheap wheels and expensive ones. The real things are usually forged which means they are strong and light weight. I have owned the real thing as well as replicas. Didnt have an issue with either. The finish on the real thing is always going to be top notch. As for strength - I didnt have an issue with any, but if you plan on doing a lot of track work or tarmac rallying then get the real thing for piece of mind. The problem with most of the replica Japanese wheels like Volk etc is they usually only come in 5x114 bolt patterns and offer little options in the BMW's 5x120 pattern and horrible offsets we have to deal with for the F20/21 chassis |
