Oil Temp Gauge

Hi all

Just wondering since we don't seem to get an M135i with an oil gauge in the info display anywhere in the world and I'm quite frankly baffled by this.

Is there an aftermarket solution like a on the E87 and E9x yet where it's fitted in the vent yet?

If not, is there anywhere I should be looking for a normal gauge then?

This was previously discussed, and you can find tons info. Basically BMW thinks you don't need it anymore. Many test it out themselves, including myself, that the oil temp stays at something no more than 120 c even when you push it.

As to see the oil temp you need to access the hidden menu. The method of accessing the hidden menu is in the DIY section. You can also get a ELM327 dongle that uses bluetooth to send lots info to your phone. There is an application for your smart phone called Torque, and it has loads of stuff (you can find info online.) There is also the WIFI version. One of them has issue with iPHONE I heard. FYI.

Thanks I found the hidden menu stuff but that's rather useless isn't it?

I have the Bluetooth dongle but it seems to read every bit of info except Oil Temp, plus it's not really practical to drive around checking my phone the whole time is it?

Hence me wondering if some tuner has an air vent solution yet.

Garage List
This company: http://www.awron.de/ has probably the best displays for BMW's. Currently they developing the one for the new Alpina B3 (based on the F30), so probably they have (or will have) the means to provide a display that can communicate with the N55 engine. Maybe you can ask thm when they plan to have a display available for the F20.

There is a way....

I have found a way to quickly determine if the engine is up to ragging temperature... Cant believe no one else seems to have figured it out.

hope it is not the oil measurement-trick, because that works already when engine is still too cold.
