2015 (LCI) M135i - Oil level calibration

Since the demise of a DipStick - does anyone know the volume represented by the MIN to MAX calibration on the electronic level check ?

Its not mentioned in the 'online' Drivers H/book - just wondered if anyone has noted how many ml's when topping up ?

Cheers Ears !

if you do the leveling procedure and the level is too lot it says how much you have to fill in...... difference between min and max is 1l=1000ml

Thx - mine just shows a vertical green bar, with Max & Min points ...... at the moment its showing midway twixt Max & Min .....

So I added 500 ml, and drove it a few km before doing the check again ..... it still shows level at the midway point on the bar ...

No sign of an actual figure is being shown on this LCI 2015 M135i ?

My manual states I do have a dipstick in my 2015 m135. Have they started to bring these back in?

My manual says 6.5 litres of oil in total and min to max volume is 1 litre. So if it's on the min level it should take 1 whole litre to get to the max line.

A bit worrying that you added 500ml and the electronic level has not moved. If yours is 2015 do you have a dipstick too? I have been meaning to do a check with the dip stick on mine (since the manual states I have one) but the manual may be wrong. It's wrong about a few other minor things such as how to engage launch control.

It would be nice to understand how the electronic oil level check actually works. Since the engine picks up revs while it's doing it I assume it's pumping oil somewhere.

A colleague of mine had a faulty oil sensor on his 120 and consequently it had been overfilled with oil.

Thx Dishy - nope, no dipstick on mine - it was manufactured in the 2nd week of May 2015 and eventually plodded down the English Channel to Southampton, where my Hampshire Dealership picked it up and handed over to me on 03Jun15 ....

I added a further 250cc of oil, and this morning after a 10 mile run, it calibrated as FULL again .... the car has done 2850 careful miles, never over-revved during run in - so a bit concerned its burned that much now !
