Does BMW yet have an arm-rest cradle for a iPhone 5?

In the order for my car, I've specified that I want a cradle for an iPhone 5. However, on the Australian configurator, it only mentions the iPhones 3 and 4.

Does anyone have this option? I'm really attracted to the idea of sticking the phone in the charger in the arm rest when I get into the car and pulling it out when I've finished driving. Out of sight, out of mind, if that's possible.

Matt, it's not available yet. I want same, as I had an iPhone 4 cradle in my Audi. It is coming, but my dealer told me last week it was originally expected mid year, but was delayed further, and might not be available until September....in which case, I hope the iPhone 6 fits also!

If you have extended Bluetooth, you don't really need it, anyway. You can still keep it in a pocket, or in the centre console, where it can be charged via a cable. The connection is only ever Bluetooth

I wouldn't bother with it. They'll cost at least AU$400 and you just don't know whether the new iPhone/s will continue to fit. Depends how long you intend to keep the 5 I guess.

Great, thanks for that.

For an iPhone 5 owner, having access to a charger is like crack, you need a constant supply or you start to get irritated and distracted.

I'm trying to do away with the cables thing, I've got them hanging all over the place in the 3 series when I'm trying to charge and listen to music through the audio output.

Haha, thanks for that. Wouldn't be. The first time a car dealer has spoken to me with a total lack of knowledge of the facts

I was also told the price was c.$AUD150, and I'll assume that was equally lacking any factual base. At $400 I'll pass.

And they wonder why the Chinese rip off original parts. They're doing a public service IMO.

Just checking, does the lightning-USB cable provide power to the iPhone?
