BOV sound

Hi guys,

My dealer just lent me their demo M135i for the weekend before mine arrives in a few months time. This is actually my first time driving it for more than 20 minutes.
Has anyone noticed the very obvious BOV sound? esp when sitting in passenger seat? Anyone know what brand they use?

I can not hear it inside the car in our 116i. I have been told by bystanders that they can hear it from the outside when I drive autoX.

Blow Off Valve. A device that gets rid of excess air pressure in the air intake when you take your foot off the throttle.

Based on my little experience. M135i MT
In ECO PRO mode, no blow off valve sound, takes forever to accelerate anyways.
In Comfort, when accelerate more actively, say 3000 rpm -ish you'll hear BOV sound shifting. 5000 definitely
In SPORT & SPORT+ same as above. However got this whistling sound as if the valve is partially open at 2500 rpm on up, like, say going up a mountain road stuck in 2nd or 3rd.
Hopefully that helps. Pls correct me if I am wrong and if others experience different, pls refer to theirs I had to pay more attention to the road in times BOV sound is loud and clear XD

I had both my driver side and passenger side windows fully open, though.

You would be surprised by how loud the bov is. BMW has really eliminated the bov sound by 80% with the stock air induction system. This thing is a massive silencer.
