how do you feel about buying something at what you think is a great price

(online) then having the seller cancel it?

This happened on the marketplace of that seattle based online superstore. I was actually surprised a seller could do that, just seems to be out of bounds, and that it would not be allowed.

Not only that, when folks like myself posted that seller canceled order and gave them 1 star, magically, a bunch of 5 star ratings crawled out of the woodwork, mentioning the canceling of orders, great customer service? lol

I know this could never happen on eBay. I'm really surprised it could happen at that co. where the ceo is in star trek.

At the time I ordered, they had a 100% rating, but only like 50, so it was as if they recently launched? But what they did dropped them to 68%.

Oh it's definitely happened on eBay. There was a member here who had a hell of a time getting his GT-R at the price he won it for. He ended up having to contact news organizations to get it resolved.

gotcha....I thought that everything was perfect with that seattle based online superstore...years ago I got shafted by some seller and they shipped me the same item from their stock, saying we can't credit you since someone else was paid, but we can make it right. A lot of that stuff is no more and they've opened up the marketplace imho to scammers...

If you go onto their forums you can find many instances of sellers that scam people.
Amazon relies on the buyers to report the scammers, but I can imagine how difficult it is to stomp it out.
You stop one and dozens popup in their place.
The buyers really do most of the policing and Amazon acts as judge & jury.
You just have to do your due diligence and comb over all the reviews and usually if a deal is too good to be true, it is.

I had the same issue a couple years ago when trying to find one of the last great Panasonic plasma TVs.
Several "different" sellers were offering the same TV for new & used at a fantastic price.
My BS radar went off and further research on their forums revealed the seller(s) true intentions.
