Time from production to delivery?
I understand there is probably not a fixed answer for this, but roughly how long does it take from production until you can pick up your car?
I've been told that production is set for week 6, but I didn't get an updated date of delivery. Several weeks ago I was told "end of February", but I don't know if it's realistic that the car is produced in week 6 and I can pick it up in week 9. I live in Norway, but I'm interested in hearing about how long this has taken regardless of location for those of you who have fairly recently picked up a new F20/F21. |

Ordered mine on the 14th of January and I've been told it'll be ready to pickup on the 1st of March. I'm in the UK though, so it'll be a right hand drive and presumably made in a different batch to the rest of Europe, and there's shipping times to factor in getting it sea freighted over from Germany. I'll be amazed if its actually ready in the quoted 7 weeks though.

Produced December 7th, delivered at the dealer 2nd of January 2013 due to various reasons: ship delayed (from Italy to Greece), Xmas bank holidays and Greek customs...
Under normal circumstances, the car could have been delivered between 15-20 December. |

I'm becoming slightly more optimistic reading these replies. Maybe I'll even get it before the end of February, but I dare not get my hopes up quite that much.
Whenever I get it, it will still suck that with an order date in November, the car still ends up being produced just a few weeks before they start fitting the 1-series with the upgraded navigation. |

Our 116i was produced 11th of April 2012. It reached our dealer in Norway (Bavaria Bryne) in the end of April. We did however not get the car until 11th of May. This was due to some complications in the registration process. We wanted ZZ plates on it, and they were not used to the paperwork involved to make that happen. If we had chosen RK plates, we would probably have gotten the car one week before.

Then I guess ordering a BMW in Hong Kong is the most dreadful experience one can have. Ordered back in late August, January production (don't know which week), and maybe end of March delivery (dealer can't even tell).
