Winter tyres? Or are you just taking the car out for a spin?

I had no control coming back last night, the super soft Potenza S001's have no grip in fresh snow... Its scary!!

I must admit, the car handles fantastically in the snow with winter tyres , stopping and starting on slopes is also no problem. Only issue I've encountered is a slope with ice on it, made it difficult to get a purchase when I stopped; abit of a run up tho and it just gripped into the icy surface!! Best time of year to own a RWD IMO with the right tyres of course

The most important issue in very slippery conditions, is to be able to stop. The RS4 is not any better at that than the RWD BMW.

One of my previous cars was a Q5 3.0tdi Quattro. Great car at moving forward in the snow, drove past a plenty of other 4x4 that were stuck a few years ago. Stopping was another issue though!
