Maybe you can buy these cars here in Mex, and take them home with you in US.

Premium hatchbacks sell here like pancakes, funny they are not available in the US.

I'd definitely consider an M135 M Sport if it was available. Maybe that's the problem... I'm a 335 owner.

I wish it were that easy. It is very difficult to import non-compliant, meaning not government approved, vehicles to the US.

how would it be 'diluted'

the 1 and 2 are the same cars really, like the old 1 hatch+coupe.. that DID have the same front end (well, 99% the same)

I believe every M135i produced after 07/2013 has 326hp, because BMW increased the size of the downpipe from 3,5" to 4".

They just never really communicated it.

What are you waiting BMW to sell this car in the US?
It would be nice one:

120i : 28-31k
125i : 31-36k
M135: 39-41k

For people who can not pay more than 31k for BMW a 120i model this would be a good start for them.

At least for Switzerland I can confirm that all pre LCI are 320hp (on paper)

Because the 2er is the new car. The 1 series and the 2 series cannot look the same or it would devalue the 2er.

I ate a lot of pancakes last week in Hawaii, but my rented Fusion never turned into a premium hatch???

They started using the electronic waste gate and bigger pipe from the M235 in the M135i some time ago so it's had at least 326 hp for a while, you can ignore what they say on paper

My deposit would be at my dealer if BMW sold these here. In major US cities, BMW would sell a ton of these. Americans are not against high-end small cars.

I think BMW is afraid it would cannibalize Mini sales, but I am proof it will not. I do not want a Mini, I want a BMW 1-series hatch with a stick.

I'm still waiting for a 5 or 6 cylinder AWD hatch with 300-350HP to hit the states. I might be waiting a very long time. The Mk7 Golf R is the closest thing right now.

Could not agree with you more. How should we get other like minded buyers together and communicate this to BMWNA? Would love to change their mind. I'm ready to put money down to order one.

I also love MINIs. I've owned an 02 MCS and it was a great car. I own a E90 328 sedan now. But a MINI won't meet my needs this time around. Neither will a current 3 series (too big) and I don't want an X1. Prefer a BMW and a 1 series RWD hatch. I'll get FWD hatch if the 1 series isn't available but it won't be a MINI. So that means I go to a competitor and BMW looses me as a customer.

Our current Presidential administration is cracking down on imported vehicles that aren't classics.

So I ask to all the fans that want to buy one in the US, what do we do about it? We've got to get together and make ourselves heard! We can't change their mind if we don't try!

Looks much better than before.
Anyway I wanted to trade in my 335i for a M135i back in '12 but because of the 'ugliness' so to speak I decided to go for a 1M. Not a bad decision.

One of my mates got ugly duckling M135i 5 door in white. Fantastic car except the looks. Some footage of a few friends of mine testing them both and a 130i a few years ago.

No subtitling sorry, but pics speak more than words.

Cheers
Robin

Yep those pre LCI's sure are disgustingly ugly, it's amazing they have managed to sell any

Why don't you open your eyes and stop regurgitating tired dross re the styling

Surprised they let these three monstrosities out at the same time without a public health warning
