Cool video, I've been in Vegas for years and never knew about this guy. The LV BMWCCA hasn't been very conducive of new/younger members. They seem content with an inner circle of older members and their 80's restorations sitting around their shop for monthly meetings and going on cruises which aren't advertised.
There are tons of younger BMW owners with high profile builds and interest in HPDEs who have to piggyback on the Porsche CCA because they have been snubbed by the LV CCA who doesn't ever do anything anyway. It's a shame really... Cool car though, would love to have a fully restored e30 one day.

The E30 is still my favorite 3er convertible.
I see the author fell in love with BMW due to the E36 model. Same one that hooked me. He got the 318i hatch, I had the sedan. Of course, I love my E92, but not as much as I loved my E36. All the best. P.S. I have shoes for every occasion too. LOL

Anybody notice them cutting the springs at 1:12 into the video? I don't have any problems w/ doing this but to many on this forum, that's like some cardinal sin. Hard to believe a vintage BMW restorer would cut springs.

Great video and great story.
I think this is a testament to the variety of clients they serve. As he mentioned they do classic restoration, more modern takes, and everything in between.

I know both Chris and Patrick. Patrick is a top shelf tech and an all around good guy.
Chris is a unique individual with high energy and the ability to pull off silly good project cars. His 2002 restorations sell for lots of $$$$$ on eBay, and they are well done. As for the local BMW CCA chapter in Vegas, the club has gone through cultural changes over the years. At first we were a driving school oriented club, but had a variety of other activities (tech sessions, drives, etc.). In fact, I met Chris and his lovely wife on a club drive for a weekend in Palm Springs (we took the roads less travelled on that drive -- caught air a couple of times...). Vegas is a tough place for clubs -- it's not a town of people who join clubs. How do I know? Well, I was on the board of the local chapter for a decade. I am a founding board member and past (multi term) president. I finally just burned out doing a lot of the heavy lifting dealing with the critics and idea rats (I've got an idea but don't want to lift a finger to make it happen). So, anyone who wants the vegas chapter to go in a different direction can run for a board position and make the club in their image. I doubt any current board member would have a problem with that. Anyway, Chris is a good story and an interesting person. If you're in Vegas, his shop is right by Terminal 3 and visitors are always welcome.
