I don't have Navigation but I do have BMW live(118i M Sport). It uses the data connection your phone if it isn't spec'd with Nav / connected drive. I had to setup a personal hotspot on my iPhone 4.

I have...
I have professional navi system, but BMW Live in not included, so I would add it. In the menu, I have option to enable data transfer over the bluetooth phone, so i guess that update to BMW Live would be only re-programming stuff, but the dealer told me that it requires some hardware to add which makes no sense...

I might also ask my dealer when I get the car delivered. I'm also interested as I've ordered pro-nav (609) and Hands-free with USB interface (6NH) but no Live or BMW Apps extras... I hope it's only a matter of software. Let us know if you get any other feedback...
