my sales rep told me that the "gifts" are something that the individual reps give out. Sort of like bribing you to give them 5 star ratings on the survey you'll be getting. They buy the stuff from the parts department at their cost which is significantly less than what you or I would pay. 1st bmw we purchased, we received keychains, a tin of cookies and a gift certificate for a free sitting to a portrait studio that the rep must've known. My x5 I got dealer branded keychains, coffee mugs, all weather floor mats, and a roundel lapel pin.

Unfortunately for him, the dealership wasn't too good to me in the least so my review of the dealership wasn't great. I wrote a letter to the general manager though explaining that my sales rep was good. The rest of the crew... not so much.

Never did get a response.

I bought mine used with 84k miles on it and I still managed to get some key chains, a hat, and a brand new set of floormats.

I typically get nothing.. the best way to gauge if you got a good deal.. is the salesman still employed when you call back a week after delivery?

I have gotten wheel locks, floor mats, tee shirts. You have to ask though because if you got a decent deal there won't be much money left for them to do much. I'd rather make sure I get a good deal and forget the free bees.

2 key rings, coffee mug, hat, all weather mats and a trunk liner. Wasn't expecting anything. Really appreciated the mats though. Was gonna get my own to protect the regular ones.

I got the roof rack cross bars and a couple tanks of gas on my 2013 X3 35i M-sport. CA sold me the tow package "at his cost" for whatever that's worth. I was stupid in not asking for the all weather mats, so before I fill out the survey I'm going to shoot him an email and see how low he can get his friends in parts to go on those.

I don't think I got all that great a deal on my lease, but I had been shopping different cars/trucks/SUVs to replace my 335i and truck for a year or more and I'd been avoiding test driving the X3 because I knew I'd want one. As soon as I did, I just decided to make the best deal I could in a few emails and get it over with since nothing else was going to even come close to driving my 335i and be able to pull my other toys too.

If I keep liking it like I have the last couple weeks, then at the end of the lease I'll be turning it in and getting two new X3s (one of which will be an M with any luck) because my daughter will be getting my wife's Subaru about that time. You can bet I'll be negotiating a little harder on those and asking for piles of stuff from the parts dept to be thrown in then.
