What makes you say this is a sponsored video? Track was wet, RS5 is AWD without the torque of the M4 as well, so it's a logical conclusion.

The numbers the cars achieved in their drag race were really high. The surface was clearly wet. However, the RS5 did it "just under 13 seconds", so that means high 12's. Still a bit slower than what for example C&D measured. The M's were about two secs slower than C&D has measured IIRC (just had a quick look at their website). I can imagine the torque of the S55 engine played a big role, too. It struggled to put down all the power at the start (you can clearly see that the rear end was stepping out) while the M3 seemed to more stable, then of course due to the power the M4 overtook the yellow car. We do not know what transmission the M3 and M4 had. Most likely DCT's, but that's just an assumption. Also, we do not know what tires the cars had and the condition of them. Even if the M's had brand new BMW-spec tires, the Audi would probably be the fastest in these conditions. Quattro does wonders. Last but not least, different drivers with different skills... If it was sponsored, there would be "Sponsored:" like in other AutoExpress videos. Quote:

However, I agree that the drag race was TOTALLY pointless. We all know that AWD is the shit in wet drag racing. |

not sure why so much flames in this thread
the test was mainly to show AWD advantage the RS5 had in wet conditions dry conditions, RS5 stays home and doesn't even try. |
