First impressions, so much more aggresive engine sound from the 1, than the M3!
Love it!
And it matches it's bigger brother as well, impressive!
The 135M is a great car, and damn fast also!

And Darkhold, your point being in the right rev range for maximum torque in the M3 is probably spot on, but again that demonstrates how tractable the M135i is. It also makes the debate about whether this is a proper M-car one for the anal-retentives. Who gives a flying **** what it's called when it goes like this?
Thank you! I totally agree with you. Some purists get a bit ridiculous about their criticism of newer cars. If you like the old BMWs so much why don't you just go out and buy one? Maybe you can get one with an Atrac player built in...

Unfortunately not at the same time; so that remains to be a theoretical study. Merely helps to give an idea.

Was not part of the initial press release, but actually the interior sound is artificially enhanced via the speakers.

M6 Gran Coupe has hydraulic power steering.

The F80 M3 / F82 M4 is expected to come with electric power steering, as listed at:

Funny to hear all these butt hurt M3 owners have the need to explain the M3's performance before congratulating the M135i...

http://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/b...m135i_f20.html

I am not sure where this data comes from but a quick search shows that in stock form the M135i is within one second of the M3 on several different tracks.

A 500$ canned tune on the M135i evens out the power between the two cars, with the M135i keeping its weight and torque advantage. I think it's pretty clear what happens then....

Damn impressive.

butt hurt,

The n55 motor should win some sort of award based purely on exhaust note

Evil quick but so unsttractive- bit of a paradox really. Guess the BMW marketing guys know their shit better than me

Btw I don't think the m3 was in the wrong gear, all vids just sound like that.

My butt is fine, I reckon the M135i is a little beast. It would be interesting to see what that little hatchback can do to a bland car like the 335, chipped or not. I think it's pretty clear what happens then...

Hi SpacecowboyM135,

I'm really impressed by the quality of your videos and by the sound of the engine . If you don't mind, which type of video camera (and data logger, if required) do you use to have the speed, RPM and G-force informations overlayed to the video?
