Clarification on USB interface with Professional Radio
Hi All,
Just after some help on clarification of the USB support with the standard BMW Professional Radio. I am led to believe that my iPhone 4S will plug into the USB Interface to offer playback and display Artists/Albums/Tracks via the idrive. Also as standard I'll be able to make/receive calls using the Phone in car via Bluetooth. I had checked this was accurate at the dealers during test drive (btw I've ordered F20 125i M Sport). Following seeing a few posts on here, and the fact the car I test drove had the Nav Business pack as well, I'm now a little concerned as to whether my initial thoughts are correct. I.e does this only work on the Business Nav system or will it also work on the standard Professional radio? I'd hate to have to go back to using an AUX interface, especially as I've upgraded to HK! Also rather not use Bluetooth audio if I can help. Many thanks, Wadded |

you need to have the extended bluetooth option to enable you to plug iphone directly into the USB port- if you have the standard bluetooth, you need a Y cable, which results in using USB to pick playlists / albums / artists and headphone jack / AUX to actually play music- pretty shitty system

Do you know if the extended bluetooth option can be retrofitted? i.e. I can buy on collection date, or would I need to revise my existing car order to include that? BTW - I'll speak to the dealer again tomorrow to confirm for sure what I'll get.. Thanks, Wadded |

No problem- it cannot be retrofitted cheaply- (£2000 been quoted) as its a different computer and additional parts
