"product quality enhancement"

just had an SMS from my dealer to get in touch about an outstanding "product quality enhancement"

Gave them a call, apparently there is a recall: "rework the luggage compartment corrosion sensor"

WTF is a corrosion sensor? why does the ECU need to know whether or not the car is rusting

apparently it's a 1 hour job

anyone else know?

Garage List
My dealer informed me about a new recall (I have done already 2 recall campaigns, regarding and A/C ECU update and a general SW update), but I do not know more details yet.

Corrosion sensor.... Here we have one car that is suffering from rust shown in picture, this is the hinge for the luggage compartment. It is worrisome alright. Maybe check yours, I might have misread your thread.

Sounds like somebody tried to use an overly technical expression with no meaning to scare you off from asking more about it.

Well BMW have an official fix for this... the problem for the future is rust on where the seat base meets the backrest (roll back the cushion at the door-side and look at the hinge!) How they plan to fix that in future - I can only imagine they replace the seats!
