Sigh. This is making me want to do the body conversion on my (mechanically converted in every aspect) e46 M3 wagon DD :-/

I don't agree with that at all-- I think the e46 has the best interior of all the M3 generations. You sure you're not basing your opinion of it on beat to shit e46s that are so prevalent today?

A properly kept e46 interior is a pretty nice place to be, imo:

It's just a bit too spartan/basic inside for me. The material quality was fine for the time but does not provide a feeling of luxury. Regardless, I would rather BMW be like the good old days when driving dynamics mattered more than having 6 different interior leather options and 5 different trim options.
