Have you got the m performance exhaust on yours then? Can't quite see from the pictures? Looks like the standard 125i one to me?

No, mine hasn't got the M performance box, only the one my 125i came with.
I looked at getting the M performance box, but at over 3 Grand + fitting here, I decided not to bother. I went for the M brakes instead.

My dealer did informed me some time ago that part of the delay in the production was that it included changes to exhaust components and auto boxes, so perhaps there is a redesigned or different back box in mine
I can only go on the sound it makes, which I like.

I shall of course let you know how my 125i exhaust sounds soon. I've been informed today my car is built and is currently awaiting shipment. Yes my car exists! The dealer reckons it will be handed over to me in a couple of weeks time. Be nice to get a RW driver just in time for the bloody winter in the UK.

Looking at your pictures the weather looks pretty damn good in Australia right now. Perfect for hitting the roads in your nice new car. I'm extremely jealous..... However, I'm not so sure I could live with all those snakes and spiders you guys are accustomed to out there.

UPDATE:

Hi all
Well this last week has passed far more quickly than the preceeding ones. Funny that!!! It must be the fact that I have had a smile like a cheshire cat all week when I have been in the car.

I can definately say that my 125i M Sport is a fantastic package,
BMW got this package right.

As you expect, I was very good for the first 100 kms, just a few little chirps here and there.

The 125i is effortless to drive in Comfort mode (5% of the time spent in the 1er the past week) with the power delivery being very linear

In Sport mode it takes on a far more dynamic stance (95%) and is far more FUN to drive

Things you find out. I thought that there was some turbo lag when punching the thottle from a stanstill, until I read that in all modes except 'Sport' and Sport+ the auto will use 2nd as the start gear, so the lag is in fact the thottle resonse to starting in 2nd
I tested this out,
I selected 'Sport' mode, moved the gear lever over to the left (RHD here) as this selects only the lower six gears and sets the best rev change (<torque) for up changes. It also 'blips' between gears in downshift when using the paddles (fun, fun, fun).

OH YES, it made a difference - The beast within was released. I havn't had this much fun since my days in the M3 and the F20 is a far better place to live within.

The ride is firm but still absorbes the bumps well.
I was supprised by the amount of grip and the flatness it displays given the street ride.

After the 500 km mark was passed, I took it on a very nice early morning run up though the winding mountain roads (hills compared to the alps) to the appropriately named Mt Glorious. It was a glorious drive. The 125i points well into the corners and in sport powers out with gusto. The M Brakes are fantastic.

I have now done over 800ks and no rattles or squeaks

The Iterior is a very nice place to be, the sport seats are really good and suportive.

The HK sound system is brilliant, The Pro Nav works well and the I drive interface with the wide screen is easy to use.

Like I said, BMW got this 1er perfect. PS I like the look of the Xennons

Nice to see that you like it. How is the engine braking going downhill with the 125i? With the 1.6L engine it is very weak.

The engine braking is acceptable in auto, however in manual using the paddles it works well. Actually slows the momentum. I am happy with it.

When I go downhill with the 116i in second gear (manual gearbox), it will rev up all the way to the red zone before it can keep a constant speed without braking.

I see you missed out on the foldable rear headrests.

Yes, but the good thing is I don't have to worry about anyone breaking into my F20, I have a guard snake (Monty) who lives above where its parked

How are you finding the stock exhaust with regard to sound. Are you tempted to upgrade to the mp exhaust in the future?

AusF20, thank you for the nice review

Just a question: do you have Adaptive Suspension on your 125i ? (and I'm also curious to hear what do you think about the sound of the standard exhaust )

Not got my 125i so can't comment with regard to the exhaust sound as yet. However, I'm coming round to the idea that it won't really bother me so much if the exhaust isn't as auidble as I'd like. After all I've brought the car for a mix of refinement and performance. Also I prefer the look of the stock exhaust tailpipes to the mp exhaust which looks a little to aftermarket for my liking. This isn't to say I won't upgrade the exhaust at some point. Just don't see me being in a rush to do so.

Hi guys
I did not go for the adaptive. I test drove both and decided not to bother, I preferred to add the M Brakes instead.

I like the sound of the exhaust, it sounds tuned to me, however, I am not a boy racer so it may not appeal to all.

Out of curiosity, I had a look under the car
The back box has a BMW logo and some part numbers etc stamped underneath it, however, I noticed on the top corner there is a little stamp that says 'REMUS'.
I am guessing that they make it for BMW.

I have been in the USA this past couple of week and have shown pics of my 125i M Sport to work mates and friends who live in Seattle (Everett), Las Vegas, Houston and LA.

The unamous consenus is that they all want to have the 1er available there.

BMW if you are reading this; There is a hugh market for the 125iM Sport and M135i in the USA that you are missing out on.

AN UPDATE:

Hi all
Well the weeks have passed quickly and I still have a smile like a cheshire cat when I drive the car.

I can definately say that my 125i M Sport is a fantastic package, BMW got this package right and I really love the Estoril Blue and the look of the M Sport with Xennons.

I have clocked more than 4000km now, no rattles or squeeks

Around town in the traffic the car is delight to drive around in 'Comfort', however I love driving it in 'Sport' mode, just move the gear lever over to the left (RHD here) set the manual (paddles) with best rev change (<torque), tip the left paddle to set M1 and go. I love the 'blips' between gears when using the paddles in the downshift (fun, fun, fun).

The ride is firm, flat and absorbes the bumps well.

After the 3000 km mark was passed, I again took it on a run up though the winding mountain roads to the appropriately named Mt Glorious, then down the other side and out past the lakes. It was a 'glorious' drive. The 125i exhaust now sounds more puposeful. The engine appears to have more horses and powers up with gusto. The M Brakes are fan'bloody'tastic.

The interior is a very nice place to be, the sport seats are really supportive and I found the little button that adjusts the side bolster (great when you drive on the real windy roads).

I love the HK sound system, it is brilliant, The Pro Nav works well and the I drive interface with the wide screen is very easy to use. (once you understand BMW logic)
I also bought the 'net' pocket for holding things ( it goes on the side of the tranny tunnel on the pasenger side. (very handy).

I recently bought an IPhone 5 and it paired instantly.

BMW has made a perfect pocket rocket.
