Its INCREDIBLY cool looking/styling/drivin car!!!
From day to day, all my possible inside doubts about the fact I've ordered one being disappeared !!
IRL in would be just brilliant. Tons better than previous one for sure.

I'm really getting used to the looks of the front, but the back still is far worse than the E8x generation IMO...

I'm keen to have a nose around one in the flesh, see how cramped the back actually is.

As we will not see these in the US, I will simply have to wait for the 2 series.

Is there a difference in back seat space between the coupe and hatchback (E82 generation)? I would think they're similar or, if anything, the coupe is even smaller...

So if that's the case, and we know that the new one is bigger, then I don't see what he's talking about because I'm 6'3" and if I adjust my driver's seat so I'm comfortable, I can get in the back behind my own seat and have enough leg room (my head touches the roof but anyone 6'1" or under fits just fine back there). How much space is he expecting to find in a 1 series?

Some will love the FB / twitter BS, frankly I'd rather be DRIVING my 135i than pissing about with that rubbish, which I can do at home or at work. Fortunately not in my car! This whole interconnectedness is getting quite ridiculous! That was a quick retort, I'll now resume the clip for the main review itself

Consider yourself fortunate! This was beaten badly with the ugly stick!

The F20 1 series hatchback is RWD. There are also 1-series models coming which will be FWD.

Thanks Jason! I had skimmed that article but at the time paid more attention to the design rather than the section on fwd and rwd. My bad!

None of the new 1 series f20/22 are making it to the USA right?

My pleasure.

The F20 (1-series 5 door hatchback) will not be coming to the US.

The F22 (2-series coupe) and F23 (2-series convertible) will be making it stateside.

The diesel gets 60+ mpg! That's crazy good, and way better than any stupid hybrid!

Gotta remember those are imperial gallons. Still really good though when converted. Wish we had more clean diesels in America.

I find it funny how he did not mention 1 thing about the looks of the car. I feel that they were trying to be nice and not make it seem like a terrible review by not mentioning the exterior looks.

or maybe they actually liked the exterior looks?

Since our dealer presentation and training for the F20 in Frankfurt we are being told that it certainly grows on you and that it looks much better in the flesh than on photographs. What they do like is the fact that it is original and is not simply a Golf copy which you cannot say for many other euro-hatches.

Agree. I still think this car is ugly, but it is growing on me. Maybe the best way to say this car is that it is not the best looking BMW. I still think the headlights should be a little bit narrower though... That would make this car perfect. Just my opinion.

engineering aside...the front end design still reminds me of a storm troopers mask from star wars.

I wold love if BMW USA was smart enough to bring over diesel 3 or 5 door. I would line up to buy one in a heartbeat!!! I will still line up for a "petrol" version a well!

123d coupe or better yet hatch would be cool. I really hope coupe will have styling steaks front and rear to make it look better. Especially front.
