Automatic Airco in master/slave
Hi all, is it possible to set the passengers airco in slave from the drivers' airco (master)? Most of the time I'm alone in the car.

In pretty sure it cannot be done- just change both dials- you could ask your dealer- but then they may laugh at you lol.
They'll probably say that it won't matter what the passenger side is set to, because that zone is different to the driver zone... It doesn't make sense from a marketing point f view for BMW to offer this as a feature |

i've had the same thought since i got my first car with 'dual zone'.
The idea that the two zones of the car are different is rubbish, its just marketing. There is no invisible barrier stopping the temp from the other zone influencing your zone. All it means is one person can have their blower at a different temperature. Test it your self, have your zone on as hot as it can go, and the other zone on as cold as it can go. Then move the other zone to as hot as it can go. See if you will start to feel warmer. You will.

My other car, a VW Tiguan, has 2-zone a/c too and on the temp. controls there is a facility to select either dual or duplicate temperatures in both the driver and passenger displays. From what I can tell in my current 320 the dual zone doesn't seem to have a similar facility.

The larger BMW's have this feature as standard. There is an "All"-button, so you can choose either separate or same climate on the two sides.

My current 118d sport coupe has auto climate control, that has the 'All' button, if you press it it changes the passenger side setting to match the drivers side. Altering the passenger control makes it independent again.

Not sure if will work as i have not got my car yet , but on my Audi if you press and hold down dial for a few seconds both sides would be the same and controlled from one side.
